I don't think Daphne will be running around, crying, and getting seduced by a serial killer. From the things I've seen and heard about her, she doesn't seem to be anything like Maya personality-wise. Plus, she's not a regular this season like Maya was in season two, so she probably won't be focused on too much other than to set her up as a nemesis for Hiro.

According to the L.A. Times‘ Show Tracker, Brea Grant, who plays the super-speedster Daphne in the new season of Heroes, prepared for her role by reading a long box–worth of Flash comics.

A little ball of Texas fun, Brea Grant said that it was “kind of daunting” joining the “Heroes’ cast but prepared herself for her super-speed role well, being the “nerd” that she is.

“I read a bunch of Flash comics, and now I have about this many (spreads her arms about three feet apart). I tried to watch the Flash TV series, but it was really bad.”

She also discusses the possible uses of super-speed in ordinary life:

“If I had it [super speed] in real life … it’d be amazing. My room would always be clean. I’d never run out of cereal…”

It’s worth noting that in the season opener, she appears wearing red. Yes: she shows up as a scarlet speedster.

I quite like the idea that she's nerdy in real life and read a bunch of comics, personally it makes me feel that the actor (and by a knock on effect the character) is that much more likable.

He just lost his dad so i bet his whole personality is a bit more serious and emotional now. And it should be, his "season 1" personality is cool and all but it's nice to see a character grow a little.

The only thing about the "Hiro-as-the-nerd" is that it can't go on forever because that shows no growth in the character whatsoever, it would only become repetitive. He needs to have some depth, otherwise, what's the point? Hiro also isn't the same person he was when the show first started, with everything that has happened to him, especially the death of his father.

As for the Daphne thing, I think you may be a little confused. There's been nothing pointing to Daphne and Hiro having a romantic relationship. She's been consistantly described as the Joker to his Batman.

Nope. I am not confused at all.

Yes I know the "dork thing" would get old. I very much look forward to his becoming "Future Hiro". I just miss the Hiro who was all excited to be a hero.

Season 1 you dissed your mission for a chick. Season 2 you fell for a chick who not meant for you.

I hope the death of his father puts him back on track.

I know full well there is nothing pointing to a romance between Hiro and Daphne. And if there is...or she's his nemisis, but he falls for her anyway...like a doosh...well then I will just use my handy dandy dvr and fast forward.
