DARK X-MEN: THE BEGINNING #3

STORY BY Jason Aaron, Paul Cornell
ART BY Jock, Humberto Ramos
COVER BY Jae Lee
PUBLISHER: Marvel Comics
COVER PRICE: $3.99
RELEASE DATE: Wed, August 26th, 2009

The conclusion to the anthology that illustrates the conception of the Dark X-Men. If you’re reading UTOPIA and think you know the whole story, think again. In this issue, Emma Frost convinces Namor to join the team. And learn where Professor X fits into UTOPIA. Also, witness the first Marvel Comic with art by JOCK (Losers, Green Arrow: Year One)!

Well, I certainly didn't expect HER to show up! :wow:

Coming from X-Force's thread, this art is pure toture. :(

Um...another crazy woman, like there are not enough of them already.

I hope Aurora will join the real X-Men eventually. It's way overdue.

Wow, that's something I didn't expect. But now that I think about it, she does work as a Dark X-man (even though I agree that crazy women are overused). At the most it will give Northstar something to do, hopefully more dialogue and character development. I just don't want it to be about him whining about his sister.

i dont think that art is bad at all.

Go to the doctor immediately for the head! There must be something wrong left from the hit! :oldrazz::woot:

So long Northstar doesn't go Quicksilver on us, I'm fine with that.

There are enough flip-outs in Marvel already.

might as put my thoughts here. dark avengers was pretty nice, after clearing up a couple things.
double agents, floating islands, this book had it all. i was a little confused at first though. was that Mindee (or whichever Cuckoo) who said "pay attention to the hot blonde" while teleporting with Magik because she got arrested like Cyclops asked in UXM (even though we never saw it)? were they teleporting people to Alcatraz or to the X-Center? and did the X-Club raise another island/facility from the ocean or was that the X-Center being moved out to sea? and i think i see a little Magneto growing out of Scott with his Utopia. i wonder what thats going to lead to.

Need to confess, much as I enjoy the story, when it progresses to parts not related to the X-Men directly, such as Emma and Namor's talking, I get impatient and want them just get the part over with.

But I can't blame Fraction for this, it's my Scott withdrawal symptoms' doing.

Yes that was her.

They were teleporting from Alcatraz to this new island.

What they raised appears to be a version of [blackout]Asteroid M.[/blackout] Though since they never actually called it by name in the issue, which is something that seems to be a bit of a nick in Fraction's writing overall, we're not 100% sure.

i thought about that with the last issue, but then i thought wouldn't [blackout]Avalon[/blackout] make more sense.
cuz Asteroid M flew into the sun, but Avalon (at least bits of) actually did fall the Earth.

Holy crap, Aurora pwned the hell out of Norman
she sure did. I ddint think much of her before, but I loved that story.

I loved the Emma/Namor one too. Those two had some serious chemistry going on and would make for one hot pairing if Marvel ever let it happen

Yeah, I support Emma/Namor much more than Emma/Scott. But we all know Namor only wants Sue lol.

Thought Mimic only [BLACKOUT]mimics people who are close in range, so how did he mimic Cyclops' optic blasts when he was nowhere near him?[/BLACKOUT]

And Pixie chose to [BLACKOUT]run all the way to pass the order when she has wings?[/BLACKOUT] Kid needs to learn she should preserve her energy anyway possible.

Come on, she's not that bad, how many women in Marvel get snarked at and not cuddled?

Mimic permantly gained Cyclops' optic blasts as well as the rest of the original X-men's powers over 40 years ago. Its been his main power set since

Ugh, doomed character he is.

Thanks for the answer, you really know a lot about X-Men stuff. :)
