Darksiders

I just finished the game and liked it a lot.
Amazing art design (Joe Madureira FTW) and soundtrack.

Even those who don't have the code, can get Red Faction and the Hellbook disc if you follow the directions on the link Kotaku provides.

I'm interested in actually getting the game brand new right now for it...but still dunno. I haven't played a Zelda game in a long time and this sounds like the game for me. I think it's going for like $30 at gamestop, used.

Demo is out now. Go check it out for those who haven't gotten this great game yet. :)

I find myself stuck in the Darksiders demo. I'm in the second story of a church and I need to jump from one side to the other, but some tenticles hanging from the ceiling are blocking my way.

I've tried attacking them with my sword and scythe, blowing them with my horn, and jump/gliding around them but I always fall short.

Tips?

There should be a bomb nearby for you to use. Since you don't have the shuriken-thingy yet.

You ever get past this part by any chance? Pretty sure that's were I got stuck, too

Yeah. If you're stuck where I was, then you probably ran right past what you were supposed to do. The area before that, there's a big statue on the ledge overlooking the courtyard area. You have to push it off the ledge and it will open up a new area.

Playing it again last night, I actually couldn't believe I missed that because the camera zooms right on the statue as if to say, "Hey! You have to do something with this! It's important!"

For once, a game made me miss Navi.

Ah, okay. Once this stuff with the PS3 blows over I'll go back in again and try it

I'm able to play the God of War 3 demo, did you try playing Darksiders demo? Or you actually bought the game? =)

The Demo. I was able to play it, but Sony pretty much said to leave the system alone for roughly 24 hours. I don't think it'll particularly do any harm or anything myself, but I'm playing it safe for now

I had played this game up until the Tiamat fight, got frustrated and forgot about it for a few months, last night I tried it again and good God is this an atrociously frustrating and boring fight if you don't know how to aproach it.
The second phase is just so bogus, over and over again I have to watch the same stupid animation, circle, dash, slash, punch her in her stupid face and repeat. I thought I could wear her out doing this and after a damned hour I had to quit.
Apparently I just have to be more aggressive, but it isn't as if this is obvious.
Is the rest of the boss battles this bad?

I got stuck on Tiamat for a bit as well. You just have to attack that bright red spot on her chest for massive damage.

I didn't have an issue with any other bosses.

After going back to it I'm not impressed with myself. The battle is so much easier with a bit more aggressiveness. I just find it flawed that you can just keep on doing that face punch thing ad infinitum and the hag won't die.

Finally started playing the first game a few nights ago and I love it. Should beat it when I get home from work, got to Eden before I shut it off last night. Already looking forward to part 2.

Heh, what an old thread to bump. I actually got this game for $5 when it was on sale over PSN. Liked it a lot, but got stuck on the fight against the giant ashworm, where you're riding your horse and shooting it. Just so repetitive. I played it so many times, did everything it told me, and everything the walkthroughs said I was supposed to do, and just never beat the damn thing. I honestly gave up altogether after that, and I HATE doing that on a good game.

How far did you get? Or did you stop at the ashworm? I guess it's because I've played all the God of War games(for the consoles, not handheld)that this game hasn't been too hard for me.

Stopped at the worm, because I got tired of the damn fight never ending. Totally got the hang of dodging, and shooting the right spot, and it just never ended.

Normal difficulty? When I fought him it didn't seem to last that long. Just slashed away at the metal covering his face, then proceeded to shoot rapidly at his tongue. Only annoying thing that was a time waster is when he goes under the sand and 3 little worms come out and chase after you.

Normal difficulty, yeah. Those three little worms are annoying, I just got tired of shooting and shooting and never seeing any progress.

Yeah, that part is kinda annoying because the gun is a peashooter. I always upgraded the gun's damage as soon as I got it because that section of the game was the only time you really need to use it.

I beat this last night and I have to say that was one of the easiest final boss fights ever. I'm playing through again but on the hardest difficulty for some trophies and I missed the last two damn health shards last run. Of course they are right neat each other in an area that you can't get back into once you left. :cmad:

Beat this on Apocalyptic difficulty last night. 100% and all trophys. Afterwards I started part 2 and so far I'm digging it. I love how it's a different type of game, action RPG. I've been wanting to play an RPG for quite a long time and this is pretty good so far.
