another point, i think maul should have eventually turned into grievous over the course of the films

He was supposed to, if I recall.

looking back at it, I would have prefered if Keira was Amidala.

So instead of starring in one ****ty trilogy, she stars in another?

as much as I liked Maul, I feel Dooku was much more wasted as a character.

Lucas should've made him a misunderstood good guy who is pretty much on the same side as Qui Gon in TPM (though not as confident of Anakin), but in AOTC turns to the Separatists (which should've been the beggining stages of the Rebel Alliance) when he realiss the Republic is being influenced by the Sith. he'd be a much better character, and his confrontations with Anakin and Obi-Wan would then have had a lot more weight to them.

I think if you took that and mixed it with what we got - that Sidious started the Seperatist movement as a way to take over as Emperor (of course, not to be revealed until the end of Episode III). In a way, this makes his eventual defeat at the hands of Luke and the Rebels a bit more ironic.

And make the prequel trilogy a lot better. So they decided against it.

I love Darth Maul but he was only needed for one movie.

He was a great sword fighter but wasn't strong with the force, his replacement Count Dooku was a former Jedi member and then Anikan was the chosen one.

quota is 80.. we are slacking!:cmad:

Lucas himself said he EFFED up killing maul ..BASTARD!:cmad: :csad:

Lucas really said that? Well serves him right then, cause I think Maul should have atleast been in AOFTC. Or, like some have said Maul should have turned into Grievous.

hmmmm i think i remember reading it on Maxim magazine circa the time episode 3 was set to debut... he expressd sadness for killing him off too early

Wow that's news to me. I really wonder what Lucas had in store for him if he kept him alive.

I think he should have returned in 3 for the role of Grevious. Half robot, like in some pre-production art and that comic. That way, Obi Wan still gets to kill him, you still have the half man half machine thing, you have him do some more asskicking- and maybe be a half decent light saber dueler as well.

This would have been awesome.

Gonna read this thread through but my vote goes for yes,he was a character that would have been great to see a lot more of.

Yeah, there could have been alot more done with him. Like maybe he could have survived when Obi-Wan split his body in two by having half of his body in robot parts. Like the design shows.

This would have been awesome.

I would've preferred this to Foghorn GreviousHorn. I liked the mighty General, but in some weird way I always thought of Foghorn Leghorn while he was onscreen.

"I sa-I say just as Count Dooku predicted"

Seriously though, it could've added a wonderful dramatic effect.

I also would've enjoyed the prequels more if the Sifo-Dyas thing was more clearly thought out instead of the mish-mash of ideas that it was.

I started thinking about in this from another Star Wars thread, and when I think about it, I think it would have been cool. He could have been like the prequels' Darth Vader. It could have been him Anakin had to fight in order to become the Sith Lord's new apprentice. Now that I think about it, I think there's alot of different things that could have happened in the prequels.

So what do you guys think?

Maul should have come back as Grievous, he could have survived the battle with Obi Wan. Unfortunately, Lucas is a total *****e and ruined Star Wars completely.

He should have brought back the writers from Empire: Lawrence Kasdan and Leigh Brackett. Moreover, he could have picked a proper director, he could have even brought back Irvin Kershner.

Frankly, this whole topic makes me ILL, DAMN YOU LUCAS, YOU PHUKING SCUMBAG!

Dooku was needed since he was strong with the force being a past former Jedi member. Having Robot legs Mual over Grievous would've been cool since it would've been Mual Vs Obi Wan: The Rematch.

yah he should have been atleast in two, but a suprise appearance in Episode 3 would have been awesome, with Obi-Wan killing him.

Again :D

If these movies were planned out like he says they were then as a hint of what's to come Maul should be in a crowd scene in AotC but no more than a quick pan of the camera over him.
