Sequels David Lindsay-Abaire writing Spider-Man 4

I agree with this, once, I tried to explain this to fanboys, but they think everything copied exactly from the comics should be put on screen--I don't.

However, it is possible to translate Spidey's humor/banter on screen, but it has to be done only when Spider-Man is in danger, not other people. You can also show Spidey's personality/banter when there is no danger. There's banter from other heroes/key characters in Star Wars, Die-Hard, True Lies, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Terminator 2, Aliens, etc. But you can't over do it, and you have to back it up with other scenes that are blood serious, dramatic and/or coupled with great action sequences. You can't just treat Spider-Man like a freakin' comedy.

I really agree here. I'd like to see him do it, but not in every single damn scene. Especially when someone is in danger or Spider-Man is.

Peter does try to subdue the villain and try to get the job done. Difference is that he covers up his nervousness and anxiety while doing it with humour.

Alot of people do that. They try to hide fear or anxiety with humour.

But that's you. How you or I might react to a situation is not a universal reaction for everyone.

Exactly.

Thank you. Don't need to tell you how good yours looks :cwink:

Well, yeah I guess. But I'd want to keep my ass alive for as long as possible. Humor is the last thing I would do.

And thanks, Olga is a freaking goddess. How did you get that picture of The Joker? And in such great quality?

umm... what the? You do realize humour is a defense mechanism for someone whos truly affraid. Maybe you wouldnt be able to string a joke together in a life or death situation, but your not the kind of person I had always imagined spider-man to be. He made jokes to calm himself (as many people do during a violent encounter). I agree he shouldnt joke when someone elses life is in danger, but when he is in danger is when spidey is most likey to drop a bit of dry wit. Then or when he is dodging a villain and wants to break their concentration. Any of you people hear stories from the army? You think they dont share a joke or even get high and laugh in the middle of gun fire. They do.

Its the kind of person spiderman is... hes quick witted, but also lacks confidence in himself. The bright costume and wisecracks are a way of projecting confidence.
