Mixed bag.

Still not sold on Momoa. Miller is good actor so I'll trust it.

Justice League in parts is disappointing. Unless its just regular sequel stuff than fine, but I hate that Harry Potter/Hunger Games kind of split

Wow. I would never have guessed DC would beat Marvel to the punch of announcing a female led superhero movie and two minority led ones.

Good for them.

Really? But it's Wonder Woman. I'm more surprised it took this long to get a Wonder Woman movie.

No because the characters are distinctive enough to prove their individual worth. Honestly the only thing they really have in common is super strength and the ability to fly. I find that when most people say they are interchangeable it's never the comic book readers. Those characters are too different in terms of power set. For one thing one is magic based and the other is vulnerable to magic.
They're both black haired, muscle bound heroes with square jaws who don't wear masks. They both have super strength, they both fly, they are both extremely durable, they both can survive in space, they both have super speed, etc.

I'm well aware of the differences between the characters but at first glance they're extremely similar and could conceivably fulfil the same role on a team of heroes.

(for the record, I'm not a Supes fan at all and would prefer Shazam simply replace him, but obviously Superman is a much more popular character who isn't going anywhere)

Oh don't get me wrong, I'm absolutely surprised it took this long.

But they likely won't because they're capable of conquering completely different types of feats as part of a team dynamic. Any concern for redundancy simply comes from a shallow point of view not neccessarily a creative one.

This miller guy looks like a raging *****e

I can see how you could think that but he is really really great. See The Perks Of Being A Wallflower, see We Need To Talk About Kevin, and thennnnnnnnnnn, we're done.

I have not seen him in anything, if he's good, he's good :)

It's not who I would've chosen personally but it's consistent with their casting of more character actor award winning or nominee types in key roles like Affleck, Jeremy Irons and Jesse Eisenberg.

I just meant that when you have Wonder Woman it should be easy to beat the other guy to the female led comic movie punch, no matter how big of a head start.

While I like Ezra Miller, never in my life would I have guessed him for Flash. My only major grievance is that once again Barry wont be a blonde and neither will Aquaman most likely so it will be a full team of brunettes, not a big thing but just annoying for the purists in me.

Why? Both characters are radically different.

You're doing both a disservice by boiling them down to just the color of their skin.

Isn't that what it boils down to though? Same reason with WW being a female. It's a big feat for both.

I can't wait for Wonder Woman though, it is going to feel an eternity waiting now that we have something official. Though I wonder if WB will stick to this plan if one of the movies under performs or isnt as a big a hit as they would like.

Wasnt there some news that Shazam isnt appearing in Justice League? Anyway, who are your picks for the directors?

Here's mine:
Shazam- Matthew Vaughn (Stardust, Kick Ass, X-Men First Class)
Wonder Woman- Matt Reeves (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Let Me In, Cloverfield)
Green Lantern- Andrew Stanton (Finding Nemo, Wall-E, John Cater)
The Flash- Brad Bird (Iron Giant, The Incredibles, Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol)
Aquaman- Guillermo Del Toro (Hellboy I and II, Pan's Labyrinth, Pacific Rim)
Cyborg- Doug Liman (Bourne Identity, Edge of Tomorrow)

We can't be too sure about the hair color yet.

I'm pretty sure no one will be dying their hair, Ezra would look awkward with blonde.

He won't suit the blonde look. Like Momoa. They both look too foreign.

Look what happens when I stay away from Internet for 12 hours !

Hell yes to Del Toro for Aquaman. Never crossed my mind.

There's no doubt that Ezra Miller is talented actor, the question is ...will he play Barry or Wally ?

Edit: Can Momoa carry a movie on his own as Aquaman ?

I got here late.

Have people shut up about WB/DC's lack of a longterm plan yet?

Wow, that's a pretty insane line up.

Personally would have preferred a Sandman date and another Female character over quite a few of those though. A Catwoman film would have been awesome.

One report says Barry, I think it's Hollywood Reporter.

The computer parts for my new rig are coming in today and there's this...

Anyway, fantastic news. Glad to see WONDER WOMAN coming so soon. And thrilled to see they're returning to GREEN LANTERN.

Ezra Miller is a bit left field. Leaves me wondering if he's going to be Barry or another Flash. Haven't seen him in anything, can't really comment.

A CYBORG solo movie is a bit surprising, and one wonders if that will turn into THE TITANS. No one was really clamoring for that one, but it makes sense, in terms of remaining competitive and being groundbreaking. MARVEL has yet to announce BLACK PANTHER, LUKE CAGE, etc. WB is also the first to the female solo superhero movie place, so that's something.
