DC Relaunching Everything?

Yeah but they dont need to reboot everything, they just need to write better stuff. Get Daniel and Finch and other hacks like them away and get good writers like Snyder.

THIS. I have been saying this from the beginning. Unfortunately they'll keep both of them writing the two blandest Bat books on the market when frankly they should cancel Dark Knight and either put a real writer on Batman or if they want to cut down the number of Batbooks so people wont be confused on what to read just can Batman Incorporated and put those stories on Batman (which is really what should have happened to begin with, I love Batman Inc. but I'm not sure a new title was absolutely necessary and if it was just stories in Batman then that book wouldn't be crappy filler like it is now).

personally what DC books are people reading

For DCU;

Batman Inc, Batman & Robin, GLC, Superboy, Superman, Action Comics, Booster Gold.

Was reading Doom Patrol, REBELS and Freedom Fighters - until this month where they got canned.

Ummm, Batman Inc, Batman, Batman and Robin and Detective Comics. :D

Tony Daniel and David Finch give great sales. DC would never get rid of them. Dark Knight has always outsold all Batman comics and Daniel on the Batman title shows sale increase aswell.

Ongoing:
-Batman Incorporated
-Detective Comics
-Batman and Robin
-Wonder Woman (was gonna drop but my wife likes it so it'll be purchashed no matter what so I still read it)
-Booster Gold
-Batgirl (I just jumped on two months ago, so there's not much point with the reboot on the way, may dropit)
-Action Comics (Highly considering dropping after last issue)

Mini-Series:
Flashpoint
Batman: Gates of Gotham
Probably gonna try out a couple of the Flashpoint tie ins.

Unfortunately it seems that having "Batman" or "TDK" on your book's title does wonders to your sales.

Agreed. I love Tony Daniel. He's like awesome and stuff. :D

Yeah. I'm not saying that DC will fire either one of them, just that maybe Finch will say "Hey you know what, I kind of suck at this writing thing..." And maybe Tony Daniel will realize he's the blandest Bat writer on the planet and go back to just art too.

In a perfect world of course...

Each for their own, i've enjoyed Daniel's stuff, it's action packed and full of good to great character moments and it's reader friendly material, just perfect for a new audience.

I enjoyed Tony Daniel's work. But if it's time for a change, I guess there should be new writers and stuff. :)

-Batgirl (I just jumped on two months ago, so there's not much point with the reboot on the way, may dropit)
I think Batgirl is one of the best and most fun books DC is selling. You have this spin on Bruce and Terry from Beyond, but with Oracle and Steph and a more girly tone. Its just pure fun and the book never cared about any continuity, in fact i think they purposely chose to forget about Steph's crappy and badly written past.

Steph and Damian take on child abducters, Steph and Supergirl take on Draculas that jumped from a theatre's silver screen, etc. Well what more could i ask for from a batgirl book?
-Action Comics (Highly considering dropping after last issue)
I read some issues and then the ending with that Kryptonian deity happened. That **** made no sense. Cornell tried to do Morrison's technological, sci-fi speak and concepts and failed at it. I'll take it from the start and see how it goes.
Probably gonna try out a couple of the Flashpoint tie ins.
Definitely picking up the Batman, Aquaman, WW, Deathstroke (HE IS A PIRATE!!!) ones. Maybe more.

I like his art I think he did good stuff working with Grant Morrison, his stories just really aren't my thing and I think Snyder's doing better stories with Dick.

But that's whats great about Batman right now, theres enough variety between the books that no matter what sort of stories you love one of them is probably right up your alley so its no loss if you don't like the direction that one or even two of the series are taking right now.

Deathstroke's a pirate? O.O
Yeah and there's a tie in called "Deathstroke and the curse of Ravager". I dont know what that is, but it sounds like Pirates of the Caribbean + Deathstroke. I'm definitely picking that up!

Also, take a look at this, its not spoiler heavy:

Thats whats gonna be most interesting about this relaunch, how many Batman titles are we truly getting. I mean Batman sells, DC knows that.

It is a fun book, I think I just had bad timing on when I decided to jump in on it. I might just get the whole thing in trades. Whether or not I keep buying the issues it depends on what DC is for sure doing with the reboot.

I really enjoyed the stuff with Lex Luthor but the ending (especially the Reign of Doomsday stuff) was a bit of a step down, if still satisfying, but the latest issue just felt like the worst kind of editorial madated crap, it didn't feel like Cornell was enthusiastic about the arc and I don't really care for all this Doomdays fighting Supermen (hopefully with lots and lots of SPLOSIONS!) for a few issues. It's just silly and an incredibly ill conceived crossover that from what I understand has interrupted the flow of every book its touched.

I'm probably getting Batman, Aquaman, Frankenstein, Kid Flash and Lois Lane. I may try Project Superman, Wonder Woman, Deathstroke (I do like me some pirates), Captain Cold, World of FP and Secret Seven for the first issues. Not so enthusiastic about the others, In particular I do not care what a non Green Lantern Hal Jordan is doing in this universe or Metamorpho (or "The Outsider") are up to.

Every great business knows, repeat customers/clients is better than new customers/clients...

That cannot be true. If you dont get new customers/clients, whats going to happen to your business when your "repeat customers" get old and die? Does your business die with them? The comics industry NEEDS new readers, i'm not sure if a reboot will do it, but something drastic needs to be done. In this day and age where superhero movies are cleaning up at the box office there's no excuse for today's top selling books to only be pushing 70k-80k a month.

Oh yeah, Project Superman and Lois sound good. I'll probably get them.

I only know Frankenstein from Final Crisis and from people saying that Morrison has written him in the past. I dont know him so i dont think i'll get that.

The role of CAPTAIN Slade Wilson will now be played by Johnny Depp

Savvy?

I find that wrong. :|

Agreed I really hate the idea of Superman dating Wonder Woman

Why cant they just be friends :csad:
