I'm getting kind of depressed just joking about this. :csad:

The Watchman saturday morning cartoon show that DC are producing will cheer you up. :awesome:

You'd have to have no soul if you didn't feel that way.

I'm kinda sad that we missed out on Black Lantern Rorshach.

I kind of missed the timeframe that Watchmen came out in so Im not too sensitive to what they do with it. Its a decent story that plays a part in the history of comics and pop culture and Moore is a talented writer, but the dude is crazy arrogant and he isnt some sort of mystical being that defined the world of comics.

Mystical being, yeah, he's not that, but you've have to be quite silly to not see how influential and defining Moore has been to modern comics.

It's not even like this is something I really give a **** about because moreso than probably any other thing a Watchmen "sequel" is going to have like zero impact on my perceptions of the original story and the characters in it.

It's just like, this ridiculous Didio of an idea and they're stupid for trying to make it.

I really think they are overestimating how successful a Watchmen sequel will be. I mean look at the movie.

Yeah, but we all know that the real reason the movie underperformed was Moore's curse he placed on WB. Maybe if he doesn't put a direct curse on the sequel/prequel/spin-off stuff, maybe it'll do okay?

This is why the Siegel and Shuster families are suing DC and why Kirby's family is suing Marvel. Well, that and money. If I were a member of the Siegel family I'd be willing to trade a certain % of money for a creative say so as to keep DC from running Superman further into the ground (thus cutting into the value of the character in the long run).

The Siegels and especially the Kirbys aren't suing Warner Bros. and Disney because DC and Marvel are "vandalizing" the works of their parents/spouse/grandparents. They're doing it solely because of the money.

Guy is an insanely huge influence, as is Miller. All people have done since DKR and Watchmen is try to write their own versions of them. That's one of the main reasons comics are in the terrible rut they've been in for years.

If they were smart they would understand that the two issues are tied together. DC is smart enough to understand that-they even argued in court that any payments they would need to make for Superman should be lowered because the character has lost popularity and relevance. I guess he should since they've been making him the personal ***** of the cost and rights controlled Batman for 25 years.

And yet you have the Kirbys attempting to gain control of Captain America, which Jack Kirby signed over all rights that he would have over the character after Joe Simon attempted to claim the character, and Spider-Man where all of Kirby's ideas were rejected.

I think the downfall of the Marvel lawsuit is going to be the fact that Toberoff has convinced the Kirbys to go too far as opposed to the Siegels who have a fully legitimate case.
