DC's Definitive Joker origin

if this is a definitive joker origin, where does that leave the killing joke?and denys cowan has been around a while,he aint new to this.

I personally feel that this is a bad idea on DC's part. The Killing Joke is widely regarded by many to be the definitive Joker story. As well as telling you all you need to know about the Joker's origin; Not everything, but just enough.

I would urge people not to buy this when it arrives. Because in my opinion, it could only serve to de-mystify one of the greatest character's DC has.

Go read The Man Who Laughs instead

Hmmm, i'm not to keen on revealing a 'definitive Joker origin. He works better as a mystery.

However I am looking forward to Denys Cowan's art.I felt that it was wasted with that awful 'Blind Justice' story. The only aspect I lied of that story was Bruce's training years.

Out in the coldness of Elseworlds.

"F*** you all!"

no, not really. i believe in the killing joke, joker says something about enjoying the idea of his past being multiple choice. so, TKJ would still easily fit in continuity...only the story told of jokers origin would be a fabrication on jokers behalf.

I just like typing "Elsewords", really.

So far, I don't like the look of this. I probably won't be picking it up.

Its funny that Doc Ock is posting outside the Spider-Man forums.:wow: As for Joker`s origin, the ones that exist are fine.

Oh no. This looks really bad. I'll probably just end up ignoring this in continuity, like with the horrible Hush Returns.

Its funny that Doc Ock is posting outside the Spider-Man forums.:wow:

LOL! Dude, I often post around these parts. I love Bats and Mr J :cwink:

the arts not all that horrid...the composition isnt that bad.

But it's still ugly as hell.

What ever happened to great inkers?
And to Norm Breyfogle!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's an okay cover, except for the colouring that ruins it

This will be one that you read in the comic shop

C'mon guys that's even worse than Whilce's covers.

the art looks ****e and the killing joke and the man who laughs are all we need for the joker's past. seventy years on and now they want a definative story? or do they think alan moore didnt do a good enough job?
i think dc is trying to lay down joker's history a bit before he gets the big screen treatment again. much like marvel did with wolverine before the movies got around to doing his origin.

what i want to know, is this an indication that the dark knight has some sort of joker origin in the script?

Nolan and Goyar have said, in one way or another, that the Joker would not have an origin. At least that is what they have eluded to in a couple of interviews about TDK.

That solicit is painful. I was hoping whatever definitive origin (which I'm against) would at least have some appealing art to heighten the book as a whole. I suppose there's a chance that the interior art might be different, but I'm skeptical.

You know, I was going to condemn this idea, but seeing how all the people here are blowing a gasket and extolling on how TKJ is THE origin, I now support it.

Sure, it'll probably blow up, but at least it'll offer something a little bit different from the "MOORE IS GOD" crowd. And even if doesn't turn out to be crap, I think it will still blow up, probably from negative fan reaction.

Here's hoping for a true criminal this time.:yay:
