If anything since Marvel has Nick Fury I wonder just who is DC's equivalent of Nick Fury? And if DC's equivalent of Nick Fury should show up in future DC Comics films to further build up the much anticipated Justice League film that I know everyone including myself is anxious to see

I guess Amanda Waller, though I don't know what exactly do you mean by an equivalent. Just someone who can appear in multiple DC films? Couldn't more than one character do that?

Amanda Waller showing up in almost every DC Comics movie to build up towards Justice League, her forming the Justice League to take on the world's greatest threat, that would be even better

Amanda Waller should definitely not form the League. She should be afraid of their power.
Amanda Waller isn't a villain, but she should be an enemy of the Justice League. Justice League Unlimited handled the character perfectly

We do not need to shoe horn some DC equivalent of Nick Fury into the universe.

Amanda Waller doesn't really work like that because the JLA aren't a government institution and she doesn't particularly like superheroes.

The only way it really works is if you have her in the sequel and do something along the lines of the recent JLA series, she forms a government-sanctioned rip off of the League to take them out should they ever become a threat.

Yes because the government could view the Justice League or any other DC Comics heroes as potential threats and have them taken out like in Captain America: The Winter Soldier with SHIELD taking out potential threats while under the Hydra banner

I could see Amanda appearing in Suicide Squad and Justice League Part One. But she'd have zero reason to be in Wonder Woman, Flash or Aquaman. References and appearances by other characters can be used to keep the continuity.

Amanda Waller will be the anti Nick Fury

Nick Fury is a government agent that works with and put together The Avengers

Amanda Waller is a government agent that fears and works against the Justice League

How about King Faraday? He is the closest thing to Nick Fury especially in DC Comics

Honestly, the DC universe doesn't need a Nick Fury equivalent. There's already characters appearing across the films.

Think about it:

- Batman v Superman: DOJ will have Lex Luthor, and he might also appear in Suicide Squad.

- Wonder Woman will appear in Batman v Superman: DOJ, Wonder Woman, and Justice League Part One

- Aquaman will appear in Batman v Superman: DOJ, Aquaman, and maybe Justice League Part One

- Flash will appear in Flash and maybe Justice League Part One. We don't know yet.

- We don't know who will be in Justice League Part Two. Probably all of the heroes.

So characters will already cross films. No need to have one just for that.

While Luthor and Waller will likely appear in may different films, neither of them are traditionally supportive of the Justice League. Waller's character could be tinkered with to make it work, but as is the only equivilent I could really think of is Max Lord.

DC universe doesn't need a equivalent.

and Amanda Waller is not going to set up the Justice League because the JLA aint a government organisation. :funny:

DC has two other candidates, Faraday King (50s DC originated spy) and Sarge Steel (a 60s Charlton originated spy guy) as well as Sam Lane or Wade Eiling (pre-Super form) as Military types of that role.

Lane is tied to Superman, the rest are free for the role.

Umm... Why? That's my only question. Why? Cuz... Yeah. Why?

king Faraday
Steve Trevor new 52
Waller
general lane

Superman. If the events of MOS is what gets all the other heroes to come out of the shadows then Superman will most likely be referenced if not appear in all the films.

Amanda Waller is way too similar to Nick Fury and should not be included in the DCCU, in my opinion. A headstrong, no-nonsense African American government agent sent in to corral all of these super powered weirdos popping up? No thank you, do something more original.
It's funny looking back at GL and seeing how they were clearly trying to build up the DCCU that way, and clearly Amanda Waller was their Nick Fury. Glad that whole thing blew up in their face so we wouldn't have to see that play out over multiple films.

That's not what Waller does, so her inclusion won't mirror Fury's.

Batman i gues, but i think they should give the role to Superman, making him deserve the status as leader of the team.

New 52 Steve Trevor would be interesting. He's the original liason between the government and JL, has a past with Wonder Woman leaving him somewhat compromised and bias towards the JL and later is put in charge of JL of America - a JL that is under the thumb of the government.

This could make up for another team-up film. But will they do it? Probably not.

She's really not, considering she's frequently a borderline villain who more often than not finds herself working against the league. DC doesn't really have a Nick Fury, nor do they need one, the JL is generally lead by one or two of its own roster.

Waller is usually against the Justice League so it wouldn't make sense for her to form the JL. if anything, it's Superman or even Batman who form the JL.

Any of those could oversee the JL forming, but, to avoid comparisons to Nick Fury, they might want to go with someone different, like Max Lord.
