Deadpool 2 Deadpool 2 News and Discussion - Part 1

I wish X-men was filming here again a la X2 and TLS. The only OT scene I ever saw being filmed was Angel jumping out of the then-tallest building in Vancouver (across from Nightcrawler's church/Magneto's Brotherhood church).

Something big going down at the Essex Schools for the Young?

I think, most likely, Mr. Sinister is being planned as some cross-universe seeding at some point since there was an X-Men: Apocalypse reference to him as well if I'm not mistaken.

I hope it's not for Deadpool or X-Force. X-Force should be the MLF and Stryfe, imo, and Deadpool works best on a smaller scale. But I do like the idea of tying all the disparate threads back together.

I agree with that. Sinister would be better off as a main team villain and smaller guys and scenarios are appropriate for Deadpool.

I actually really like that Fox seems to only be giving small hints and connections rather than trying to force a big connected universe. Logan for example was somewhat connected to both Apocalypse and X1, but was basically a stand-alone film. If we look at the upcoming slate of: New Mutants, Dark Phoenix, Deadpool 2, The Gifted and Legion S2, all of those either take place in a different time period or a different universe all-together. It is actually quite refreshing to see. Then again, I do think that Sinister will essentially be the X-verse's Thanos. Plus, I think DOFP did a great job of making this feel like one connected film series and I think they can pull that off again if they want to.

Only Small hints and connections because their continuity is a mess. Having two separate Caliban in 2016/17 is inexcusable.

If they know how to plan long term, a shared universe wouldn't feel forced.

Who cares, man... Seems like lots of people enjoyed the hell out of Deadpool and Logan regardless of continuity, and are looking forward to Deadpool 2 and X-Force.

So... this movie is still filming right?

I wonder if Wade has his duct taped costume that we saw on the first day of filming at the X-Mansion throughout the entire film. We know they're prepping from Essex stuff, so I'm just wondering where it falls into the events of the film.

The filming schedule is a major upgrade to how tight and short it was for the original movie. I expect the action in this movie to look much bigger (and that huge vehicle crashing through the streets is a strong indicator).

And I really like the duct tape thing.

It doesn't matter if you care, but let's not pretend this is a well planned shared universe.

What does it matter that you care? :drl::oldrazz:
Couldn't we, like, open a "10 daily reasons why the X-Men universe is not a well planned shared one" topic just for you?

You seem to get offensive when I pointout something I didn't like, So yes to you.

The Phoenix moving truck is just probably just a small reference that there's a Phoenix movie coming out in 2018.

They were both great for sure but the overall situation isn't ideal. I'd rather the main line X-Men films were knocking it out the park and they were building out from there. But I've rewatched Deapool about 20 times and very much look forward to at least a trilogy of solos and maybe X-Force films, Cable team ups etc. And Logan was one of the best films based on superheroes in recent years (even if I don't have the same desire to rewatch it multiple times).

People don't need to hate to know that this isn't a well planned shared universe.
