Deadpool 2 Deadpool 2 News and Discussion - Part 2

I like Age of Ultron MUCH more than the original.

I mean I enjoyed it more as well but I brought up that as an example because the general consensus is that it's not as good as the original (I feel otherwise) but it's in no way a bad movie. So if that's where Deadpool 2 is gonna land; then I'm content with that.

Yeah, me too.
I actually really liked Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, as well. In the end the story and character all come together beautifully. It's a pretty ambitious and corageous movie and a great sequel.
Kingsman: The Golden Circle, on the other side, I didn't enjoy nearly as much as the original (it was also too much of a rehash in several parts).

Yeah, I loved Guardians 2. It drags a little in the middle as Quill, Gamora and Drax don’t have much to do but the subplot with Yondu and Rocket makes up for it. And aside from having Ego provide a little too much exposition, he’s a great villain. The movie also has a lot of heart, and you can’t beat the soundtrack.

in korea, there will be screening in may 11.
"review" embargo is may 15 12PM. and simple reaction is okay.

there was 20m screening for fans when ryan came here.
it was like 6 scene mixed together and got great reaction.

I love spending time with Brolin. Mostly because it helps me appreciate all the times I’m not with Brolin.

I put the love heart over Brolin's middle finger. Felt like the right thing to do. :woot:

I dunno why there's a May 15th embargo, the fan screening is the 10th :lmao: there'll be spoilers left and right!

The review embargo is for May 14th in the evening and I'm 99.9% sure it's because that's the night of the premiere in NYC. So it would make sense to have the review embargo drop after the premiere for various reasons lol

I know right...Just look how accurate MCU Valkyrie is....:o :cwink:

You're bringing up her because? Well for the record I didn't like that she didn't look comic accurate as well.

Of course you didn't, but your supeficial nonsense doesn't matter because Tessa was one of the most praised aspects of that movie.

Yup, I already posted that one.
About ten minutes longer than the first one. I'm sure it'll flow just as nicely.
It may also be slightly more brutal than the original, as it has been rated 18A in British Columbia, as opposed to first one's 14A.

Anyway, with what we've heard so far about the movie and from Ryan Reynolds and Tim Miller, I'm pretty sure that the clash between the two was about the 'magnitude' of the movie, with Miller pushing for a smaller movie, and Reynolds & Co. keen on widening the scope.

Wasn't it the other way round? Miller wanted a bigger scope and Reynolds wanted a smaller movie?

Nah, Tim Miller has debunked those rumors (which weren't reliable to begin with, but people love to eat up whatever rumor comes up online, even when it comes from questionable sources) several times and has stated that he wanted to keep it small, just like the original.

And Ryan Reynolds' recent comments about wanting to broaden the scope (in addition to that tweet he posted and then deleted when Miller left) and deliver a proper summer blockbuster (albeit smaller than other superhero movies) makes me think that's what probably went down.

I also had a brief (but nice) chat with Tim Miller on Disqus once about a year ago, and he said:

When DP2 wasn't an option to do in the same way we did the first film, I left (not booted, just wasn't working for a variety of reasons I'm not gonna discuss).

Works either way for me. I was pretty upset when he left, but they've found a great new entry in David Leitch and everything I've seen so far looks spectacular... and I'm also really looking forward to Miller's Terminator.

Miller is a great guy and whilst I'm sad he left Deadpool 2, I'm happy the success of the first film opened more doors for him.

I'm fully confident Leitch and co will deliver though.

Just booked my tickets for Tuesday 15th May.

And just like I thought, Jack Kesy is still in the cast and the credits on the official website were contractual.

Ryan Reynolds' production company is called MAXIMUM EFFORT, by the way. :woot:

Thinking of doing the double feature next Thursday but that might be too much Deadpool, haha
