Deadpool 2 Deadpool 2 should be PG-13

BvS is definitely going past the $1 billion mark, that's pretty much a lock at this point.

And I'm definitely against the proposed idea. There is absolutely no logical reason whatsoever for Deadpool to go from Rated-R to PG-13.

There's nothing wrong with movies being PG-13. If you want the largest audience, that's what you need. So, high budget blockbusters kind of have to be PG-13. This doesn't mean Deadpool, or movies like it, need to be PG-13. Not every movie should be a AAA blockbuster. The problem arises when you take a movie concept that logically should be solidly R, and then snip and cut around the edges until its just barely passable as PG-13. Or, for that matter, when you take a movie that should logically be PG-13, and then force in random gore or sex or whatnot in order to push it over the edge into R.

Anyway, Deadpool 2 should be R, certainly. There's a place for PG-13 Deadpool, and that place is "appearances in other X-movies". X-Force is a toss-up, if you make it basically "Deadpool and Friends": could be R, could be a hard PG-13. Depends on what they do with it.

My- and probably others, as well- theater experience watching Deadpool was hindered by the parents that brought their very young children with them, in a stroller even, while they watched the film. I'd prefer to not have the potential number of kids infesting a movie theater bumped from two to umpteenth.

I may get flamed for saying this but now that the initial movie came out with an R rating, I feel it would be beneficial for the studio if they made the sequel PG-13. It could be a running gag in the movie where Deadpool has a checklist of what he can do and keep the PG-13 rating (ex. 1 use of F Bomb, so many partial nudity shots) and he has to do everything he can to keep within the rating due to "studio pressure". The comics got away with PG-13 so not sure why the movie can't....

I read the OP...that's an interesting thought...but maybe they can use the rating as a gag and keep it as rated R...but pretend it is PG 13 and then in the first 5 minutes throw that idea out

The blood appeared almost black because of the blue-ish color filters used, and it being splattered over grey asphalt.

If you can do Scott Pilgrim vs the World at that rating, you can certainly pull off Deadpool as well.
There's just the matter of the dark and sadistic humor and display of powers/action that necessitates the R.

The idea of "Deadpool struggles to conform to a PG-13 rating" has a lot of merit but it should be saved for when Deadpool is crossing over into another franchise. Like if he were to appear in one of the main series X-men movies.

You could have Deadpool appear in an X-Men movie and do the same joke. What sense would it make to castrate and water down an actual Deadpool movie just to do a lame running gag?
