Kinda the same ol we've heard, but Rodriguez talks a little more about the possibility of directing Deadpool:

Last week Rob Liefeld sent the Deadpool fan base into a backspin with his tweets regarding the much anticipated Deadpool film.

Now, John Horn for the LA Times Hero Complex is reporting that he talked with Robert Rodriguez on Monday and Rodriguez is still deciding on whether or not he will direct the Deadpool film. Roriguez has reportedly been in meetings with Twentieth Century Fox about directing and had this to say about the screenplay “It’s a great script and a great property."

This from Hero Complex...

Rodriguez, who just finished the final sound mix of "Machete," sounded gung ho about "Deadpool" but added that he is still debating his next project. “I’m just working everything out,” Rodriguez said, noting that he is choosing between three options for his next directing job. He said one is the long-discussed "Sin City 2" but he declined to name the other, though it could be "Nerveracker," a far-future thriller that was announced last year but hasn't moved as quickly as anticipated.

I'm a believer. In fact I'm the biggest believer you're ever going to meet. The point is, I believe in reality.

i may be alone but i say drop sin city 2 too much time has passed for anybody to care anymore it did make good at box office but the film was also cheap to make it has been almost 6 years

Hmmm if Ryan Reynolds isn't going to be involved with Deadpool... why is his production company Dark Trick Films officially on board as producers?

I think this is how it will go down; As long as all the pieces are in place for Deadpool to start shooting as soon as Reynolds has finished Safe House, which would probably be March or April... then there should be no problems with Reynolds doing Deadpool.

The only real stumbling block is R.I.P.D. But seeing as that only has a script and no directors or producers attached and the fact Reynolds loves Deadpool, it shouldn't be too much of a problem. If he had to choose Deadpool or R.I.P.D I think it would be safe to put your life savings on him choosing Deadpool.

Warner Bros do not have a say in the matter... unless the filming of Deadpool clashes with Green Lantern promotional work, which it shouldn't as long as Deadpool starts shooting in March/April.

He still might not be able to film, but he could produce it. It all depends on GL's success: If it does well, then Deadpool may not happen. If it bombs, then it probably will.

If this happens (RR and RR), I'd be one happy man.

IT HAS TO HAPPEN!!!!!

Why would RR want someone else to play a character he's been aching to play for years? If that's your logic....well...dur dur durr.

That has nothing to do with jack ****. Fox is a more famous studio anyway.

And they now have 2 billion more then WB.

They've already began production on GL2, and if GL does well, no doubt they'll aim for a trilogy. Unfortunately for you, GL looks to be shaping up really well.

And Rodriguez says Deadpool would have to come after Spy Kids 4...which comes out in 2011.

Not to mention he's already signed on to Red Sonja, Sin City 2, Nerverackers, and Madman.

Hm...wait 2-4 years for one specific film, or get 2 or even 3 films done in that time.

No brainer. And it's not as though he doesn't like Green Lantern. He actually fixed an error the writers made with the oath.

I dont care about Robert. Reynolds is the only one I want. And if he wont do it, no one will. His production company will back out, his writers whom he wrote with will say adios, and no more RR Deadpool movie.

Wait, why would the writers back out? If the script is as good as they say it is, wouldn't they, yknow, send it in?

Because they ALL wrote it together.

Why do you want RR out so badly? Why do you want something not true to the source? It's because you cant get into the theater isnt it.....

I'm not saying I want him out, I'm just trying to keep the most important factor, reality, in perspective. It's totally possible that they'll need to recast.

Or just get a stunt actor and have Reynolds voice over. Deadpool'll be wearing his mask for about 94% of the film anyway.

Yeah so? Green Goblin wore his mask the entire movie, and that was still Willem. Which gave him more character. It's ALL about the character. RR has to be in the suit proforming.

And you know what else is realistic? Not seeing this film go into production because of their only bankable star is gone.
