Deadpool & Wolverine Deadpool & Wolverine News and General Discussion Thread

X2 is a much better film, it's true :o There's a time and place for everything, and now's the time for these designs. The cowl isn't particularly well designed though, it looks both entirely CGI and like an ill-fitting cosplay helmet at the same time, and it does Hugh zero favors. Whoever ends up wearing the cowl in the MCU proper (and I do want him to wear the cowl), it better be of much higher quality.
Same. Marvel Studios translate the superhero suits into live-action well. The headgear, not so much (Kang, Wolverine, Daredevil, and Gambit)

I'm going to the Multiverse (Earth-4dX) in less than two hours to watch Deadpool & Wolverine: LFG.

No, I mean Deadpool & Wolverine.

The time and place is now. And the time and place didn't happen before because we were gaslit by studios and executives for years.

Yup. For example, WB sure did gaslight us regarding Aquaman. They told us they couldn't possibly do something like use Aquaman's iconic suit. They could've done something interesting, like use the iconic suit to represent Arthur fully embracing his birthright, but no, he just wore black leather the entire time.

In particular, Fox was only ever interested in black leather suits. We could've had Daredevil wearing an all red outfit in 2003. They didn't do that. We never got the Fantastic Four wearing blue and black outfits, no sir.

The movie was crazy! Those 4dX seats/effects were insane and it amplified the movie more during the fight scenes. And I haven't seen any movie in 3D in such a long time, maybe X-Men Apocalypse? I was smiling the whole time!!!

I plan to watch it next Saturday and next week, in a normal screen to digest the movie more. But it was awesome! LFG!

Exceptions that prove the rule. Also, Aquaman came out in 2018.

1. You quoted the wrong person.

2. Most of your examples of supposed lying were from the mid-late 2010s. You cited a quote from the Daredevil Season 3 showrunner, who took over the show in 2017/2018, after we got a whole season of Daredevil where he was in costume. Or is it only OK to use examples from the late 2010s when it could help your argument?

3. Your narrative isn't the rule just because you say it is. Especially since your narrative relies on willfully ignoring chunks of 21st century live action superhero film/tv history.

I don’t think we were lied to about the costumes. It’s just what some execs and fans believed. I’m sure some still do.

As The Iron Sheik would say, exactly. They brought a guy onto Daredevil to oversee the last season who doesn't even like the costumes and thinks they don't look good. So we get a half-assed version of Bullseye and a costume-less Season 3.

Season 3 was utter trash.

Iron Fist no costume. No suit. More half-assed garbage. Even using the mask was a copout. The showrunner and writers were clearly ashamed of the subject matter and didn't want to be writing a comic book show.

what’s some lines of dialogue that’ll make X-MEN fans happy in the film???

I cannot think of a line, right now, but three hours later, I feel crazy thinking about it. Like if you've seen every Marvel film, this is literally for you.

I'm OK with saying lying. Once again you have the showrunner of Daredevil saying the suits don't look good in daylight. Lies.
It isn't a lie if it's your opinion. That's just called having a different opinion. Lying by definition is when you know something is true and provide false information. So unless the showrunner knew the costume looked good in daylight and said it didn't anyway, he is just giving an opinion. It isn't a lie simply cause you don't agree or don't like it

So...you're mostly mad about Netflix Marvel and painting everyone else with the same brush, whether that's accurate or not. I understand.

I'd mention that Netflix Marvel does not represent all of live action superhero media, but you'd just ignore or downplay that the way you've done everything else.

Not all. Most. I stand by what I said.

What he said was patently and provably false. Once again, fine with calling it a lie.

It's not provable. Maybe they think all superhero costumes look dumb. Personal preferencws cannot be disproven. Just cause you like them doesn't make it a false statement or provable. Your opinion is just that, an opinion. Just cause superhero movies make money, is the guy who directed Birdman wrong for saying they're bad? It's the same thing. Your argument is just based on being a fanboy who doesn't like people making fun of what they like. But it doesn't make your argument that you are presenting valid. If you hate olives, no argument in the world about how great olives are will change the fact that you don't like them.

The showrunner doesn't have to like superhero costumes or think they are cool anymore than you have to like the Netflix shows for shying away from them.

It is provable if you watch Deadpool & Wolverine. What they said was false and wrong. To me, that's a lie.
