Deadpool & Wolverine Deadpool & Wolverine Rate & Review Thread

Absolutely fantastic!

Full of heart, full of action and full of comedy. Seeing Wolverine in the costume was just beautiful.

The cameos were superb. I did not expect such a love letter to the Fox movies but it worked so well.

9/10

7.5/10. Was good and kept in spirit with the previous 2 movies, but the story was not coherent enough and a bit too sloppy. DP2 is still my favourite because it had a plot you could follow quite easily, personal stakes and good character development for all the main cast. I feel they at least tried to recreate that in DP3 but fell a little short.

Having days to process from my first showing, I saw it again with a low crowd presence and bumped this from a 7.5 to a 6.5... Hugh was the best thing about this. The plot is messy, villain forgettable and my tolerance for over the top one liners can drain the battery abit with deadpool. Still love the cameo's but i will say these " Multiverse " plot points are getting old....VERY QUICKLY. The facts are..... The next phase of Marvel will focus on the majority of this which unfortunately for me could lead to stupid decisions being made at the expense of solid character development and plot. Interesting times ahead can not be understated

7/10 at the very most. I will go to see it again, perhaps opting for the 3D version next time.

It's a very nice send-off to the Fox X-Men movies and it's enjoyable if you just go along with the ride - I can see this will hit the right spot with audiences as entertainment that doesn't take itself too seriously - but I felt it was all a bit chaotic and was left wondering if this was a result of the writers' strike disrupting everything.

It's often far too frenetic. The violence, endless quipping and use of f-bombs is so gratuitous and excessive that it becomes tedious and lost all meaning. Nothing is given time to matter. There aren't any really memorable action scenes.

I did enjoy most of the cameos. But thinking about them in detail....

Emma Corrin was (at least initially) totally lacking in menace, good line delivery and impact as Cassandra, while Channing's Gambit is a good clue to me that he wasn't really right for the part (not chiselled/lean enough in the face to pull off that headgear) and that the comicbook/cartoon costume wouldn't work in live action (same goes for Wolverine's pointy-eared mask and bright yellow suit).I'm kinda surprised that given the MCU's generally comic-accurate costumes mostly looking fine on screen (though Clea looked absurdly out of place at the end of Dr Strange), those two X-outfits stood out as a little unconvincing. I was left with the feeling that Pyro and Human Torch were only really here for what they thought would be a cool fire-based fight scene where one could cancel the other's powers and that Juggernaut was only included in that oddly distracting portrayal by a Vinnie Jones lookalike because they wanted to have a psi-proof helmet available to use on Cassandra.

It's a 7 or 8/10 for me. I can totally see why people would give it below 5 as well... but I just had a blast watching this film!

I'm surprised people are not liking Cassandra Nova, I thought she was great and the best main villain in the Deadpool franchise so far.

I thought her first appearance and lines were quite poor. She seemed to get better as she got meaner and nastier like the actress had more to chew on. I know she can act, because of what I've seen her in before, but I was not at all convinced when she first came down the ramp to address the newcomers. Also, what was up with the costume? That weird top made of strips of cloth, was that supposed to be some sort of chest-binding? She managed to find a decent pair of trousers and a coat but the top half was just well weird...

I feel indifference with Cassandra Nova and Mr. Paradox. But its also very rare to like a Mcu villain - Loki (in the first Thor film), Hela and Thanos are the only ones that stood out for me. I didn't even like Green Goblin and No Way Home is a top tier MCU film, for me.

The initial viewing I would have at 9 maybe 9.25 my second viewing more of an 8.5 it was still very good. Just some of the more slower parts stuck out more, while other parts did seem faster.

I had a huge amount of fun with. I was on the Fox-Men train for a lot longer than many on here and I wasn't expecting this to be such a love letter to those movies. I thought this would be about moving DP into the MCU which they didn't actually end up doing.

The cameos were great and some made me really laugh and others got me a little bit emotional as well. Emma Corrin as Cassandra Nova was really good. But this was Reynolds and Jackman's show and neither disappointed. Hugh brought the gravitas and Reynolds brought the laughs, but they also switched those roles occasionally to great effect.

Very interested to see what they do with some of these characters going forward. 8.5/10.

I've been to see it again, this time I opted for the 3D version. The 3D is really good.

Much more impressed the second time around. Maybe that's because I knew what was coming, so I could be ready for it and study it more closely. Whatever the reason, I enjoyed it a lot more.

Upgrading my score to 8.5/10 or maybe even 9/10. Definitely worth a second viewing!

For me, the first viewing was better despite all the distraction from 4dx chair/winds/effects, and the 3D not being clear to my eyes.

Chaotically fun, vulgar, and filled with impressive cameos. I had a good time. 9/10.

I saw D&W today with my sis and bro-in-law who both enjoyed it a lot and got a fair few references despite also missing a lot. I already thought I understood well why this film was exploding and also why it annoyed the heck out of some fans - and seeing it totally confirmed everything I thought. Also as expected, I had a total blast with it. :D

Looking back, my irritation with Deadpool in 2 might have been more related to that annoying kid, still only seen that film the one time while I’ve seen the first 50 or so times. I found Deadpool strangely quite fresh again and a unique vehicle to do this stuff with CBMs in general. The jokes are definitely about quantity rather than quality but enough of them land to make up for the large number that don’t. The cameos were very fun and I’m glad for many of the actors getting another chance, some nice nostalgia at the end too.

This was a great team up but it made made me realise that Deadpool himself has awesome action choreography compared to many other superheroes. I’d had enough of him after 2 but now I’m up for more after this one.

Oh and I’d seen a lot of praise for Emma Corrin here. Yes, she was an absolute delight every second she was on screen. I’ll have to check out more films that she’s in.

Glad you had a better time with this than DP2, Ice. The action in this really did "pop" more than the previous two and there at least a couple standout fights that will probably get talked about a lot in the future.
