I wonder why they chose to show an unmasked Wolverine for their first official image. I sure hope we will get a mostly masked version for this film in true Deadpool fashion. I will be very disappointed if wolverine does not wear a mask for most of the film.

It would look good with them both masked up. Maybe they’re waiting on it as it looks even more awesome.

I think you're going to be disappointed then. I'm sure he will wear the mask in at least a few scenes in the movie, but no way in hell is he going to wear it throughout the majority of this movie.

Yeah, that's why I'm not hopeful. In the past they released pictures of the characters in full costumes prior to filming, to have an official look and not just set pictures - think Cable. So the fact that deadpool has its mask and wolverine does not to me indicates that this is his look.

I hope I'm wrong though.

The Instagram post from that source on page 3 has been right about the costume. It also mentions wolverine will wear the mask so here's hoping. Maybe we will get some set pictures of him in action. If he doesn't wear it during action sequences, I doubt he will wear it otherwise.

I think I like the mask on the old Deadpool costume better. They elongated the black patches around the eyes, and it makes it look more like a Comic-con costume to me

I gotta say, I know we’ve been waiting forever to see l Wolverine (and the rest of the X-Men) in more comic accurate outfits and we were all anticipating seeing them with the rebooted MCU versions, but I’m really glad we’re actually seeing it on Hugh. It just feels right. There are not many actors so closely tied to a character like he is with Wolverine. This feels like the ultimate end goal for this character.

For my money Hugh is the greatest piece of Marvel casting of all time and his run and tenure in the role has been legendary. It's unmatched by anyone.

Hugh has been wolverine since I was 7 years old. I don't know a world where he isn't wolverine, so to be able to see him again, and in the classic suit, is just wonderful. And I say that as someone who thinks Logan was the perfect ending.
