Someone please tell me that Birth of the Demon is still in continuity. I think I have a new favorite graphic novel. I'm kinda hoping it's not in vein.

it was considered an Elseworlds tale up until July of '06 when Grant Morrison used it as the basis for his 4 issue 'Batman & Son' story arc.

Son of the Demon, not Birth of the Demon. And since Batman Annual 26 used some of the same locales and characters as 'Birth of the Demon" I would say it is in-continuity.

See the thing that got me was when Talia was talking about her mother and father meeting in woodstock. In Son of the Demon, Ra's was out for revenge on the guy who killed his wife. This would be easily dismissed if it wasn't for the fact that they brought Damian back. Stuff in "Birth" and "Son" just didn't mesh. So it's all especially confusing in Ra's Year One. In the prologue it mentions Ra's being born to a tribe of Arabic nomads (which he is in Birth), yet the Son story is back in continuity? All I know is, this story is one of the most satisfying origin story's I've ever read. The way he literally became the "Demon's Head".. bloody brilliant. He was such a good man, and then, just like many other arch bat foes, came that ONE day. The day that birthed the demon. I also loved the fight between him and Bruce. That might have been the most dramatic battle I've ever seen Batman engage in. Must Read for every Bat-fan.

if you want it to be in continuity, it is...at this point, DC continuity is so f**king confusing who cares.

My continuity is better than yours. :o

Breyfogle is the ****IN MAN! I can't believe I left that part out. I came into this thread telling myself to make sure to say that.

*signs petition*...*but does not pay*:woot:

Why wouldn't it be? Now that he has a son I'd say most all of the demon books are in continuity.

Why is continuity no important?

Your getting "Son of the Demon" mixed up with "Birth of the Demon".
Birth told the story of how Ras came to be an imortal.

I dont think it can be said the SOTD is really back in continuty as a whole......even with batmans son around the statement Batman maded about being druged that night the Damian was consieved contradics the way it happened in SOTD.Ether way they were both great books.

I downloaded Son of the Demon for free. Then I bought it. That's how good it is.
