Jon Bernthals Frank Castle might not be joining The Defenders when Marvels group of Netflix superheroes come together to protect New York later next week, but with The Punisher coming out next it seems like excitements building over Castles return.
Now that The Defenders is premiering later this month, it seems like Marvel TVs softened its marketing run and started working on promotion for The Punisher. In an interview with Screen Rant, Deborah Ann Woll starts opening up about her anticipation for the series, admitting that her character, Karen Page, actuall relates with Frank more than Charlie Coxs Matt Murdock.
I think if anything, its easier for Karen to sympathize with Frank than it is with Matt in some ways, because Karen in a lot of ways is more like Frank. You know, she killed the guy who kidnapped her and threatened all the people that she loved and didnt really think twice about it and then she covered it up, and didnt tell anyone about it.
In fact, Deborah thinks that Karen feels more comfortable with The Punisher than she does with Daredevil, saying that the character really cant be as honest with her romantic partner.
I mean, Karens a vigilante more akin to Frank in many ways than to Matt, who has his religiousness and his righteousness that is sort of pulling him in many directions. I think in some ways, Karen cant be really honest about who she is with Matt in a way that she can be with Frank.
This might mean a bit of trouble for Karen and Matt. Communication is key to every relationship, and if Karen can open up more to Frank than Matt, then the two might have a few issues to work through.
