I'm wanting to finally within the next month or so buy a 360. I was looking at the 60 gig that just hit shelves not too long ago. Is this one worth it? Is it without those pesky RROD issues?

Is there a better version?

Now take into account I have a family and can't afford to spend all that much, and I can't afford to replace it if it dies, so I'm hoping to get one that won't...you know...die.

Just help please.

Well, if it dies with the RROD, it's completely free to ship it to Microsoft and have them fix it, for 3 years. So affording to replace it isn't a problem.

The newer models have much less chance then the older ones. I think it's still possible to get the RROD however, it is not completely solved. The Elite has a less chance then the older models, and I'm sure the 60GB has as much chance as the Elite.

I had one for a year, and it RROD'd, I replaced it and have had this one for just over a year.

I wouldn't worry about it too much, plenty of people have never dealt with it and MS is well aware of the problem. If you buy a 360, just enjoy it.

I say buy one. As an owner of one myself, I enjoy the much larger game selection than some consoles.

The dashboard is full of goodies for you. Yeah the online is 59 a year. But it's worth it. MS does random maintance every so often, and most game servers aren't that laggy. Welll from my experience.

The RROD is common, but like the others said, MS replaces it for free.

I have the elite since it's launch and I haven't had one problem with it. But that's if you want to spend a little extra on the system. Now there's no 100 percent guarantee that you'll never get the RROD. But Elites have a better shot of not getting it.

Most likely, I think all systems are region locked, either North America, Europe or Asia.

I know the DS isn't region locked, and I love that fact.

I didn't know if the 360 was though....oh well.

I've got an American version of Call of duty 4 (NTSC) for a European XBOX360 (PAL) and it works just fine.

80% of the games are region free.

You can easy find out what games are region free, just google "xbox 360 games region free"
