"Definitive" Batman artist?

Alex Ross is very good but I'm not sure if he's the definitive Batman artist.

Growing up it wouldve been Neil Adams & Jim Aparo. Now, it would be Jim Lee.

I grew up on Aparo's Batman, so I'll go with him.

Jim Lee comes in second.

For me it's either Paul Pope or seth Fisher.

Grew up on BTAS (so Bruce Timm) and Jim Aparo. When I got back into comics it was just in time for Hush, so Jim Lee too.

I've actually tried the close your eyes thing a few times on different days and I never seem to get a consistent result. I really think it's a cross between Mazzuchelli and Neal Adams inked by Bill Sienkiewcsz with a tinge of whatever I've read most recently

I'm also a fan of Bolland, Adams, and Risso. I've never really gotten the appeal of Jim Lee or Aparo, though - but, that's just me, I guess.

Timm. A Dini/Timm run set in actual DC continuity where they could be darker than TAS would be awesome. Timm's story Two of a Kind is also my favorite Two-face story that isnt about his origin like TLH was.

Yeah why hasn't this happened yet? I know they've done plently of TAS-inspired comic work already but it's all been in the same mold as the TV series. It wouldn't be treading old ground if you let them go all out with it. Maybe Dini just works best on a more pg13 level. But then also he introduced Harley Quinn who is based on some really screwed-up more adult-orientated type themes. And the violence in the Joker issue.......
