Days of Future Past Deleted Scenes Thread

Have watched 6 deleted scenes.

Farewell to Logan - that scene looks a bit awkward. Bishop, Sunspot, Warpath and Blink say words which Kitty says in final cut. And Logan kisses Storm.

Mystique in mansion. That scene looks awkward too. I didn't like it. It was just dialog between Logan, Charles and Raven.

Other scenes are not interesting.

So Mystique in the mansion is included on this DVD? I guess that means it's not in the extended cut

They included only half of that scene. Mystique talks to Charles and Logan in the kitchen. No CGI.

Second part of Mystique in the mansion would be in extended cut I guess.
Scene with Hank and Mystique on the floor should be there

Oh , I see why it was cut. Kind of brings Charles back to his FC character and doesn't really add much. Mystique is also less like her 70s persona..

Yeah, I see what they were going after, trying to show that Charles is too controlling, even if his intentions are good. It's just overly done--makes him look like he hasn't learned anything at all, which is a little inconsistent, especially the telepathy. It's obvious in FC that Raven does NOT like Charles in her head, so he's going to do the thing that upsets her? No.

Interesting scene, but just too much. The final cut of the movie (with him using Cerebro) shows the same thing with much more subtlety. And Charles has to use his telepathy there since he's not in the same room with her.

The inclusion of that leads me to think they aren't putting in rogue cut the sequenze of Mystique going to mansion.

I think this scene is a deleted scene of the mansion sequence. The rest should be on the extended cut otherwise the whole thing would be here. There's more to it than this scene and it supposedly ties into the Rogue subplot

One thing I did like about the scene, however, was that is showed Raven understood why Erik tried to kill her. So now there's this possibility that the two of them could end up working together in the future despite what he did.

In interviews for DOFP Lauren Shueller Donner talked about Magneto and
Mystique would become realigned In Apocalypse.

Now that she got him back for what he tried to do given the right events they could get back together In future.

My thoughts about the deleted scenes:
1. Fairwell to Logan - what I didn't like about this is the way it was shot. It was taken in 1 shot, no close-ups/different shots whatsoever. And LOL @ Colossus, getting no word again when all of the mutants in the scene said a word.
2/3/4. Tape recorder/Trask/Alternate scene - I could live without it.
5. Logan attacks Beast - not really needed. But Rogue's hands <333

What I don't get is what was Kitty's plan if the Sentinels hadn't turned up at that moment? Just hang on forever or stop when she died? There doesn't seem to be a way for Wolverine to say 'yep, mission accomplished'

It's possible Kitty get's to see some of the action. Another thing is Xavier is monitoring the situation so he can also learn when mission accomplished. With Bishop it's really just a leap of faith. She simply let's go at the last possible second. In most cases, it would take like 20 seconds to "Guys we gotta go".

I finally watched the deleted scenes

I agree that the way that the Farewell to Logan part was shot was super awkward! They all looked cramped in that hallway and they were just like waiting for each other finish his or her line. HAHA. I wish they had closeups in that part. And when all of them except Logan and Storm exited, their movement was too stiff. :P

But ah, deleted is deleted. Still glad to see that they were able to say more lines.

Hopefully they have more lines in the Rogue Cut.

We still don't know in which part of the film Blink said "we have to keep going".

I would have enjoyed the Wolvie & Storm kiss if there was more of a build up in the movies. Outside of The Last Stand (and i'm being generous here) there really wasn't much tension or attraction between the characters. DOFP could have set this up at the beginning before this kiss.

It was a smart move to remove this because it doesn't really fit with the franchise characterizations, especially post-The Wolverine. Storm was also attracted to Hank and Kurt than Wolverine, that was heavily implied in the previous films.

After X2, I'm definitely more of a Nightcrawler/Storm-shipper.

I thought the whole "Charles is too controlling" was too much of a retread in the film as it was, to be honest. It especially irked me that everyone, including Charles, seemed to have forgotten that Charles actually told Raven to leave with Erik in FC. He already had the epiphany about the need to let her go from under his wing, that particular aspect of their relationship already got a resolution and was dealt with. Charles accusing Erik of stealing Raven from him didn't work for me either for the same reason; sure you could explain it by saying that maybe Charles deliberately forgot about letting Raven go so that he could blame Erik for everything, but I seriously doubt that Kinberg had such intricacies in mind.

Raven saying that she understands why Erik tried to kill her in the deleted scene makes little sense IMO, since no one in the movie explained to her why he tried to kill her. In their scene together Erik simply says in an extremely vague way that her blood would doom them all, which is hardly an explanation anyone would accept as a valid reason to kill them. Unless there's another deleted/extended scene somewhere.

Just some screenshots from the special features that show them filming the Rougue stuff :)

Just noticed the second shot is a homage to X2 :D

Found this still which appears show Anna Paquin's hands in DOFP. It's from the Mexican edition of FORBES magazine.

I can't wait to see this. It's so weird to see Rogue's hands bare like this, specially with Rogue half-drowsed from Trask's experiments (recall Iceman helps drag her down the tunnels) and having to concentrate to keep the gate from stopping and her hands from touching Wolverine. :P
