that scene could has been longer but it was great and varied a little from the novelization
What happened in the novel?

Iceman tried freezing Phat but the ice wasn't strong enough so Phat starting moving again annd was breaking free until Colouss hit him with an uppercut to the chin knocking him out

Ah, cool. Thanks. Has anyone seen the alternate version before they board the jet? What is said?

Original X-Jet Entrance

Wolverine: They're not coming.

Iceman: Hey! We trained for this.

Wolverine: This isn't the Danger Room, Bobby.

Iceman: Logan, we're ready to fight.

Wolverine: Fight for what? You better know the answer 'cause you got a war. You might not come home. (points to Shadowcat) She might not come home. Are you ready for that?

Iceman: We're not kids anymore. We're X-Men.

Wolverine: Was does that mean? Apart from the 'X' on your chest.

Shadowcat: It means we fight to protect those who ha-

Wolverine: Hate and fear us? Yeah, I heard that one. But it's just words.

Iceman: That's not what it means. It means we're a family. All of us. And we fight as one or not at all. That's what it means.

Wolverine: You have no idea what's waiting out there. Magneto's got an army this time.

Storm: And Jean.

Beast: His powers have limits. Hers' do not. If we don't stop them now, then nobody can.

Iceman: (to Wolverine) It seems to me you need all the help you can get.

Wolverine: (pause) Ok. Let's go.

Here you go:

Logan: What the hell is that?
Beast: My old uniform. Still fits...almost.

They join the kids. Logan points to Iceman without stopping.

Logan: You're not comin'.
Iceman: Hey! We've trained for this!
Logan: This isn't the Danger Room, Bobby.
Iceman: Logan, we're ready to fight.
Logan: Fight for what? Hm?

Iceman doesn't answer.

Logan: You better know the answer, 'cause if you go to war, you might not come home. (points to Kitty) She might not come home, you ready for that?[note: this is a different take than what was in the trailers. Jackman plays it a little calmer, not as fierce and clipped as in the trailers]

Iceman: We're not kids anymore, we're X-Men.
Logan: What does that mean? Apart from the X on your chest. (He pokes Iceman in the chest)
Kitty: It means we fight to protect those who--
Logan: Hate and fear us? Yeah, I heard that one, but it's just words.
Iceman: No, that's not what it means. It means we're a family, all of us. And we fight as one or not at all. That's what it means.
Logan: You have no idea what's waiting out there, Magneto's got an army this time.
Storm: And Jean.
Beast: His powers have limits. Hers do not. If we don't stop them now, then nobody can.
Iceman: Well then. It seems to me you need all the help you can get.

Logan nods.

Logan: Okay, let's go.

That's it. So much better than what we got. But, according to Ratner, it was cut because it took the focus away from Logan. Blah.

EDIT: Sorry, Worthy, didn't see that you'd typed it up.

:hulk:

Yeah, let's just sacrifice a scene that defines WHO THE HEROES ARE AND WHY THEY FIGHT so that WOLVERINE can be the focus of yet another scene.

*grabs his sniper rifle and heads towards 20th Century Fox HQ*

The writers even say on the commentary that they prefer this scene and it's closer to the way Wolverine would/should act.

And the scene went with Iceman's character development. Just like the school alternate ending.

Damn.

I am royally pi$$ed that scene was cut. Sounds like a great scene that really explains what the darn X-Men are all about. Jeesh! It's also bad that the writers and the director pretty much had no say about how to edit this film..they had to follow guidelines, and make Wolverine the 'hero and leader' and the center of attention.

They really should do an extended version of X3, with these scenes in. They won't, because Ratner prob won't fight for it, but it would've been nice.

I don't know if I even want to watch more of these deleted scenes. I'll just end up getting angry.

OH BOY! storm says something! lol do they ACTUALLY like step up the jet.

That sounds so much better than what we got. What a stupid choice on Ratner's part.

I can't load the scene for this, but here's what is said during Rogue's alternate cure scene:

Iceman: (sees Rogue on the bed) You're back.

Rogue: I couldn't. I couldn't do it. I'm sorry Bobby, but this is me.

Iceman: (holds hands with Rogue) Welcome home Rogue. (they hug)

I can't take these deleted scenes no more, lol. I get angrier with each scene I see. These 'little moments' would've helped the film out greatly, IMO. And Rogue definitely should have never taken the cure in the theatrical film, IMO. Ugh. :o

coolies...now quit it..lol i have to last a couple more days..lol

..Ummm thats a joke right? Seriousy I don't believe anyone is so ******ed to take an incredible scene like that (makes logan look more like logan btw and less like a cyke wannabe) just to put more focus on freaken Wolverine. When Wovlerine looked at everyone and said "We stand together..X-Men all of us"...People laughed at that line because..it didn't work. Wow this really angers me like puts me in a bad mood. And how the helll does that take the focus off wolverine?? Wolverine has the most lines in that part and its just bobby (and kitty) defending their reason why to fight. Un ****ing believable I'm very mad right now.

Upload that scene now! I still can't believe there was such a huge dialogue filmed... so good to be true.

i try not to read...can't you wait another day or two???? LOL

You better not listen to the commentary then. :oldrazz:

What they said about Angel, about how he should've been shown in the battle (or once before he saves his dad) really pissed me off. Ugh.

that scene hopefully will be on tonight....be patient

This always happens in movies anyway. Look at the LOTR films and how many great scenes were cut from them (although thankfully we got to see them on the extended editions!)
I really enjoyed X3 on DVD anyway and I'm sure many of you will too when you buy it and rewatch it.

 :( :p I used to be extremely annoyed at the X3 writers, but I guess they really didn't have much control over the project, so it's not all their fault (minus their lying). Sounds like they actually had good ideas that just weren't used, or edited out to make Wolverine the focus. I guess them and Ratner really couldn't fight that hard against FOX, since they were new to the franchise :o

well still....can't wait for those extras...btw Ant glad to see ya!!!
