Demolition Man 2

It was only cool because of Snipes.

Assuming they set it 30 years after the PC future of 2032, I’d be down to see how even more utopian is the future of 2062.

LOL, seriously? Why? The first movie is a fun guilty pleasure but I don’t think anyone has been hoping for a sequel for the past 30 years.

Yeah I agree, it's a bad idea... especially since Stallone has only been doing straight to dvd movies. (Except Rocky/Creed and Rambo, but those are brands)

Wouldn't surprise me if this ends up being terrible or extremely mediocre like those crappy Starship Troopers sequals

Guess I'm in the minority since I'm okay with seeing a sequel.

The original has surprisingly aged well (its commentary and how eerily similar it is to certain Internet groups).

The original has gotten better with age (and I've loved it since the first time I saw it as a kid), as Daniel Waters genius satire started leaking into reality and it gained an entirely new dimension. Dude was way ahead of his time, and so was the movie. Great direction by Brambilla and the cast hits it off wonderfully.

Demolition Man is a true gem!

So...

Be careful with the material.

P.S.: I hope hope they get Waters back as screenwriter, or at least someone who has a knack for both satire and adventure (maybe one of the Rick and Morty writers).

Wesley Snipes was hilarious in Demolition Man

Don’t know how I’d feel about a sequel. Though it would be funny to see how much more pathetic the future could look when compared to the first film and where we are currently at right now lol

Snipes was always basically the Joker to me in the original.

Not feeling the idea of a sequel.

And aren't we pretty close to the year in takes place in the future with the world clearly not going to be that advanced?

Just because Stallone is writing it doesn’t mean a studio will green light it. He’s not getting any younger, and I can’t imagine the budget would justify filming it. I like Stallone but his big budget action movie days are long over. The only way I can see this maybe work if he’s doing another mentor role like his Rocky franchise but not sure if that is enough to make a good movie.

Oh,Stallone's writing this himself? I don't think he's right for the material.

Snipes was great in the first one, but I disagree that he was the only thing worthwhile in it. The real appeal to me was the whole setting with this nanny state covering up a seedy underbelly. Just being exposed to this world and how crazy things were entertained me more than anything. That feeling is not something that can be duplicated in a sequel, because we have already seen it.

The original is on my shortlist for best action films of the 90s. It isn't as good as Total Recall or Terminator 2 or The Matrix, but I still think very highly of it and it holds up well today.

I love the original Demolition Man as well, but a sequel just feels pointless IMO. Even if they figured out a BS way to bring Snipes back Stallone just can't do that type of physical action anymore either, so I have no idea what kind of direction they could take it in unless it's really similar to what his role was in the Creed movies. Also, doesn't Stallone have like 10 projects in the works? Where is he going to find the time to do all these damn movies?

Love the original, and it’s the movie where I first saw Sandra Bullock so I will always be great fun to it for that.

Them doing a sequel doesn’t bother me though. And people who said Stallone can’t do action anymore mustn’t have watched Rambo V.

I'm intrigued, but I don't think it will get anywhere near a green light.

I want a Rambo 6 though. After the (IMO) perfect ending to John Rambo, Last Blood just opened it all up again and left it unfinished for me.

Demolition Man was a fun movie and all, but why the hell would you want a sequel and what the hell is even a sequel to that movie? It was just a fairly self contained action film. It makes no sense.

Also, Stallone is 73. Is the movie going to be about the test tube kids he had with Sandra Bullock's character?

The original is so entertaining. Bullock is good in this and she basically gave the same performance in The Heat and I still loved it lol.

It's going to be about how Stallone has to teach his "PC beta" son (who's also a cop) how to be tough... and Sandra Bullock's character is probably dead so he had to raise him alone...
