Personally, I loved 'Superman Returns'... though I do think it was too long on second viewing and agree to some extent with most of the criticism.

With that in mind, I'm curious where people stand for the inevitable sequel.

Oh god, please restart... aaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh pleaaaaaase restarrrrt...

See i'm actually torn between the second and third option.
SR wasn't great , but okay and enjoyable , but yes i'm looking forward to a sequel which it more edgy , more comic based and with a better villain and action obviously :)

That should also be an option on the poll as there are people like me who are looking forward to the sequel but found SR to be an "okay" movie

I think it's too late for a restart. I expected a great movie being that it received 4 stars but I give it no more than 3 myself. Although I was a little disappointed with the movie I did like it enough that I would like to see a sequel. If the next one is better it kind of makes the first movie more acceptable.

Even though I loved the film... I totally agree with that comment. I'm kinda hoping more people look at the big picture and see this as a "first chapter" rather than a whole in itself.

It was alright, but more villains besides Lex Luthor and a different director would be needed.

I thought it was good but it definitely needs new villains, like Braniac.

movie was terrible, singers world withour superman should nothign to proven that statement other than a pissing Lois. restart is what i am for.

I think it was a good way to re-start the franchise and I'm definitely interested in seeing where it's headed in the sequel. That said, I would like to see some more comic book influence and an alien villain that isnt Zod.

For me, SR was awesome movie and I really loved it.

But there was too much Donner's stuff and nothing from comics, and that hurted movie.

After reading the rumours about sequel, I think SR2 will be just like SR, but with more action.

For me, it doesn't sound so good, so that is why I will just wait to judge.

All I can say is that I am looking forward to sequel, but now my hypeness level for it is very low.

SR was great and i love the effort everyone has done with it. It's performance, meh doesn't bother me. World Wide it was a hit and it did good for WB. I look forward to the sequel and i can't wait to see what's next.

Where's the "I liked Routh as Superman, but overall the film was a disappointment (plot-wise)" option?

I really enjoyed it. :) I think DVD sales will soar also.

But for the next one...I do want to see more comic lore...Brainiac, etc..

The first two options are too closely matched; "Loved..." and , "..great relaunch.."

I'd go with okay relaunch.

It was a terrible film but they can't restart. We need a great director with a great understanding and care for the character to come in and clean up Singer's mess with a sequel.

"It was a great relaunch but more edge, comic lore and/or villains are needed next time."

That sums up my opinion....accordin to the reports it will have more of an edge, more comic lore and villains

the sequel is heading in the right direction..

nice poll

"Loved 'Superman Returns' and can't wait to see the direction continued!"

Loved Superman Returns...but let's see a storyline based moreso on the established comic book canon and less on Donner nostalgia in the follow up.

I think it's too late for that. Just either restart begins style with a modest budget or well whatever.

I want a sequel that's more towards the comics. The suit to be more like it is is the comics, and add Brainiac and some more villians from the comics, less Donner!

exaxtly, but keep in ZOd so we can have a Zod, Brainiac, and Luthor Team Up!!!:supes:

More action and better script. Less comicness (ala Lex).
Keep it light (in terms of backgrounds). More action and more dialogue
from both Clark and Supes. Make Lois more vibrant and energetic.
