Transformers Devastator - Should we see it or not

If there is a GOOD REASON for Devastator I think they can definately make it work. In the comic book, they were brilliantly introduced. Build communications bridge... when attacked turn around and defend it in the most dramatic way possible.

If it's done purely for effect and "gee whiz" audience reaction (which is typical Bay) then I say No. I'd much rather see Shockwave trounce everybody.

Agreed. I will also add that there becomes a point when there is just too much... and since we're talking Michael Bay I will admit he's already over the top, so adding Devastator would, in my opinion, be way "too much."

devastator is the only constructicon that is truelly required.

his transformatino could be done via the legs forming and the others climing up and then constructing until he is complete.

having two with one good and one bad would be over the top, just have a single merging robot and see how the combined autobots tackle him.

i wonder if the dinobots would still be cool if used today, i must say they rocked my boat back in the day but i'm not sure how'd they hold up.

I also think that we don't necessarily need 2 combiners. Just Devastator would be enough. Now everyone sees how tricky it is to make a Transformers movie and please everyone. This movie will rock!

I've seen that before. I wouldn't have a problem with Devastator looking like that.

NO, they don't all need to be. These are movies we're talking about - not a television season where you have 24 episodes to introduce and tackle new characters/origins/ideas. If everyone is so worried that right now, as we type, this movie's "point" has been lost in translation, then think how much more diluted and "lost" it would feel if most/all of the Transformer's universe is introduced. It would make Spiderman 3 look like a brilliant, wel thought out, pulitzer prize script.

I personally would rather them keep it similar to the X-Men movies, in that you have your main characters and most of the time should be concentrated on them and introduce a few new ones in later movies.

I'd love to see gestalts like Devastator in the sequel. Although it may sound kinda cheesy and over-the-top, remember that this is Transformers and we should be treated to a spectacle, with enormous robots that look like demigods killing each other and laying waste wherever they go. It's like in ROTK, when we see those elephants dwarfing Roharrium when they were trampling the army, it was a sight to behold. In the sequel, when they need to raise the stakes and give us something we've never seen before, Devastator (and other gestals) would be the sight moviegoers won't soon forget.

In a sequel, should we see Devastator or any other joined robots? I keep thinking something like that would be to much for a live action film. It's something the Japanese would do. How could you possibly pull something off like that without it being over the top.

Even though Boncrusher is the name they use most. If they made Devastator out of 3-5 bots they wouldn't need Bonecrusher. Just don't count on ever seeing a character called Mixmaster. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaay to many trademarks on that name for Hasbro to ever use it again.
