Diablo IV!

Been playing since Saturday (early access) and already have 34 hours in. Finished the campaign and currently lvl 48.

This is my first Diablo game and I absolutely love it.

I heard the campaign is high quality and has great voice acting. Haven’t got time to start this anytime soon but very much looking forward to it.

Downloaded it for PS4 on Tuesday but I’ve been so busy that I unfortunately have only played a little. What I have played is great though. The graphics are amazing.

Loving it so far, lots of build diversity and story is engaging and well acted out as well.

The world they have built though is the best thing, huge map but also every area feels unique and different to explore, it makes you want to look down every path and the enemies are nicely different in each area and offer different challenges each time. Boss design is really cool as well, I can imagine on high difficulties some of them will be a real beast to take down. Up their with Skyrim and Witcher 3 in terms of worlds you love going back to.

In Act V at the moment but nearly hit 50, looking forward to what endgame offers but feels like I have barely scratched the surface and there is loads to do.

Loving it but I’m not liking how they trap you in the boss rooms. I don’t mind that in Elden Ring or other Soulsbourne type games but one of my play strategies in D2 was running down a corridor and using a Town Portal when the battle heats up a little too much. I know that makes the battles easier but it also leads to a whole different way of strategizing, rather than just having to dodge every attack so you don’t run out of your crappy low number of potions (BTW, dodging in Soulsbourne games is easier than it is in something like this).

Finished the story, was suitably epic but also opened ended for the obvious DLC that will come along.

Real game begins now with the grind and building up the world tiers, lots of end game content though so should keep me coming back for some time yet and some really nice variety in terms of things to do and try. Looking forward to the first season kicking off to see what that brings and how it freshens things up.

Great to see a game of this type actually see a good launch. Too often they launch in a state, and if they eventually get good it’s down the road.

Love the voice acting in this game. Just realized today that the great Ralph Ineson voices Lorath!

Finished the main campaign last night; what an awesome conclusion. Lilith was a tough adversary, and the preceding fights with Duriel and that other giant monster were challenging too. I really liked Duriel’s design in this; much more intimidating than he was in D2 although I think I had a tougher time fighting him in D2 simply because he’s the first REALLY tough boss you take on.

Anyway, I hope we don’t have to wait long for the DLC. The end was intriguing as hell (no pun intended) and now the only question is whether
we’re going to face off against all three Prime Evils or just Mephisto. I would be fine with either; Mephisto proved to be a much more interesting villain than his brothers IMO and this is the first time we’ve really spent any time with the manipulative bastard. I’m cool with Act VII being the Mephisto Show, and then just having some foreshadowing that Big D and maybe Baal are coming back in the inevitable Diablo V.

Then again, the game is called DIABLO IV, so it would be a little uncharacteristic for him to sit this one out entirely…

I also hope we get some insight on what happened to Tyrael and what Imperius has been up to. Inarius certain took the title of Chief A-hole Archangel away from him but Imperius also seemed to be headed down a dark path in D3.

Yeah I've been impressed with the quality. I've played Diablo 2 but not 3 so didn't have much idea what to expect on this front after all this time.

I would say that D3 is worth a playthrough once you’ve exhausted D4. It’s not as good and it’s a bit goofier overall but it’s still a fun game. My biggest complaint about it is that it’s just a bit too easy. But if you’re a fan of the series and the lore, you’ll probably like it.

I like going back and playing prior games in a series so will definitely do that at some point. Being easy won’t put me off lol.

Started Vessel of Hatred yesterday and I’m currently devouring it. Really love retuning to Kurast, which was one of my favorite areas in Diablo II. The cut scenes and new characters are great. I’m glad that this DLC is so engaging, especially after trying Starfield Shattered Space and getting bored after an hour or two.
