MARVEL COMICS

ASSAULT ON NEW OLYMPUS $3.99 - should be awesome.
BLACK WIDOW DEADLY ORIGIN #1 (OF 4) $3.99 - with DR:YA wrapping up, along comes another Cornell miniseries to take its place.
CAPTAIN AMERICA REBORN #4 (OF 6) $3.99 - falling back a bit, but they've also expanded the story. The pieces are now mostly in play, so should be interesting.
DAREDEVIL #502 $2.99 - Diggle's off to a great start with this book.
IMMORTAL WEAPONS #4 (OF 5) $3.99 - feels like a while since we had one of these. TBD never got much characterization beyond being attractive, so I'll be interested to see what they do here.
X-MEN VS AGENTS OF ATLAS #2 (OF 2) $3.99

Wow, that's the strongest opening week I can remember in quite a while.

In conclusion, falling asleep in the back of a car is bad

That would depend on who you are falling asleep with in the back of the car.

DARK HORSE COMICS

AGE OF REPTILES JOURNEY #1 $3.50 - (How cool to see this series make a return.)
BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER #30 ADAM HUGHES CVR $2.99
CONAN THE CIMMERIAN #15 $2.99
END LEAGUE #9 (OF 9) $3.99 - (So late, always...I'm glad it's over.)

AUTHORITY #16 $2.99
BATMAN CONFIDENTIAL #36 $2.99
BATMAN THE UNSEEN #3 (OF 5) $2.99
BATMAN WIDENING GYRE #3 (OF 6) $2.99 - (This really isn't doing much for me. It might be the most dull Kevin Smith story I've read.)
DOOM PATROL #4 (BLACKEST NIGHT) $3.99
GREAT TEN #1 (OF 10) $2.99 - (What is this? I'll probably pick up the first issue...but am clueless to what it is.)
GREEK STREET #5 (MR) $2.99
HOUSE OF MYSTERY #19 (MR) $2.99
JONAH HEX #49 $2.99
MAGOG #3 $2.99

SWEET TOOTH #3 (MR) $2.99 - (My favorite Vertigo title, now. DMZ and House Of Mystery has gotten a bit dull of late.)
WARLORD #8 $2.99

IMAGE COMICS - (I was thinking about Image Comics, especially with the big creators all coming together again. If this happened again today as it did in the 90's, which big 7 or 8 writers/artists would be the biggest to leave the two big companies and create their own company? And, would any of those previous people in the 90's make the grade?)

FRANK FRAZETTAS DARK KINGDOM #2 (OF 4) FRAZETTA CVR A $3.99
HAUNT #2 $2.99 - (First issue wasn't that bad. I'll give this comic a try for a bit.)

NOVA #31 $2.99
OFFICIAL INDEX TO MARVEL UNIVERSE #11 $3.99

It was more the heat. I don't think it was really hot enough to suffocate me (at least not for the time I was in there), but it was pretty damn hot when I woke up. Drenched in sweat and all that. Not too fun a time if I say so myself

Yeah, Eric Shanower is a great writer and I heard the first one was really good, but I will wait for trade on these. The first one is only in hardcore for now:(

HAUNT #2
CAPTAIN AMERICA REBORN #4 (technically, this book skipped September)
ASSAULT ON NEW OLYMPUS #1
IMMORTAL WEAPONS #4
GHOST RIDERS: HEAVEN'S ON FIRE #4
NOVA #31
X-MEN VS. AGENTS OF ATLAS #2

Heavy week to start off November, especially with 5 out of 7 books being $4 each (all Marvel's, a shock I know). Still, looks to be a solid week overall. IMW #4 could be the only dud, as some issues have ranged from decent to average. Can't wait for the start of the Hercules event.

Seriously, Spider-Man and Psylocke are so far on the maybe list that I debated on not even including them. I'd only buy Spider-Man to conclude the Ben Reilly story but I haven't even gotten last issue yet and am debating on even buying them. And I don't typically buy minis anymore if they don't add to an ongoing due to the $4 price tag, so I doubt I'll buy Psylocke more than I doubt I'll buy Spider-Man, but there is a teensy chance, so I listed it anyway.

As for the rest....

YAAAAYYYYY!!!! Not one issue but two of Project Superpowers this week along with Bring on the Bad Guys. Both minis have been spectacular and I'm looking forward to seeing what happens after the last issue of PS's reveal... and I'm looking forward to learning more about Samson in BotBG.

And we finally come to the final issue of The End League. This is one of those series that was kinda hard to read issue by issue due to the delays and everything that's going on in the book, but everytime I tried to drop the book I'd sit and read everything up to that point in one setting and I'd realize just how much I'd love the book. So now here we are at the final issue and I'm glad I've waited and I find myself eager to see what happens now. I hate that the art shifted so dramatically midway through issue #4, but that's really my only complaint. Otherwise, good story. Not great, but definately good. Though I just noticed the $4 price tag, so that annoys me some, but it's a last issue, what are you gonna do?

Really? Nova two weeks in a row? Pure awesomeness right there.

And I don't really care as much about Captain America: Reborn or Astonishing X-Men but I buy them so there they are.

Immortal Weapons is exciting, but with how disappointing the past 2 issues were I'm kinda not looking forward to it. Hopefully this one will be more along the lines of issue 1 with Fat Cobra.

So all in all, good week.

The last ones that I can think of that I found myself really enjoying were the Chamber and Iceman Icons minis back around 2000. I thought those were surprisingly good. The Cyclops one started good but ended up boring, and the Rogue one just sucked all the way around I remember liking Nightcrawler's, but being that I don't even remember anything about it, it must not have been THAT amazing. But yeah, Iceman's, and especially Chamber's, were very enjoyable.

I remember Chamber was written by Brian K. Vaugn, so that's a good sign of why it was good. Don't recall who wrote the Iceman one.

I thought Dog Brother #1's story was amazing. Fat Cobra was the best, but B9S's story put me to sleep.

Dog Brother's was okay. Definately better than Bride of Nine Spider's. I think maybe I just loved the Immortal Weapons so much that I had my hopes up way too high for this mini.
