Eh. Maybe I'll try Fatale. I tried reading Criminal and didn't really get into it.
Did you try Incognito?

I'm not a big fan of Criminal either, but Incognito was incredible. Definitely enough to get me excited for Fatale.

I don't think I did. I think Criminal soured me on that too. Then again, I did finally read Sleeper's first trade a few months ago and found it to be pretty good, so maybe I shouldn't be so quick to write off Brubaker's more crime thriller-ish stuff. I guess I will try Fatale.

You should try Incognito. It's awesome.

I don't know what your complaint about Criminal was, but to me the series seemed to be a bit too dry for my tastes, and really didn't have any characters that I cared about.

Incognito, however, has a lot more fun interjected into it, and it's protagonist is a lot more engrossing. It's noir, but it also has some parody elements as well; it's villains are kinda over the top and zany.

YES. Apparently it's like his most epic crime noir story ever. 'least that's what he says.
Icon right? When is it coming out?

Although, Im always hopeful that he would just do more Criminal:o

Image, actually.

And da 4th.

Fatale I'll be checking out since it seems so off the wall for Brubaker. I mean, yeah, crime noir is his thing, but crime noir mixed with Lovecraft lore inspired gangsters? Really just doesn't seem like something I'd expect from him (though I've never read any of his creator-owned stuff outside occasional bits of Criminal).

Why the hell didn't anyone else mention Lovecraft? I'd have tried it in a heartbeat if I knew it was a Lovecraftian crime thriller. :o
