Dick Grayson Casting Thread

Usually when people think "inspired" casting, it's someone who looks against type.

In this case, it's a guy who looks exactly like the character in the comics, but an actor that fans don't believe could pull it off.

I've seen more than enough from him to know that he would absolutely nail the character.

He's never not had great chemistry with an actor in his films (since becoming an adult actor). And I feel like he'd play great off of a grizzled, older Ben Affleck/Bruce Wayne.

He has the charm and sense of humor to make Dick Grayson cocky but likable.

He has the physique ... more than any other actor of his generation. Period.

He's the perfect age to play the character long term.

He's a fan the comic book world and has voiced on several occasions that he'd love to play a superhero.


Just give him the mask and escrima sticks already.

I've still yet to see any reason stated against his casting that is reasonable. Most people who are against him still see him as a Disney teen star. To that extent I see his career following the path of Kurt Russell.

I'm not crazy about Efron, but damn if he is not the only living person that looks exactly like Dick Grayson from the comics. It's eerie.

I can see it a lliiitttllle bit but there are certainly actors out there who bear a more striking semblance.

Yeah, sorry, I can't really see it myself; I think Dick has a more "sly" smile, while Efron's kinda goofy...I already admitted that I'm biased against him because his face annoys me, but yeah, he might be a very solid choice, but I don't see how people would claim he's the "spitting image" of the character....

A young Matt Boomer, that'd be the spitting image of Dick.

Aaron Taylor Johnson is officially my pick if he doesn't still have a marvel deal. Efron is someone I suggested a while back but I'm just not sure about his acting. Wouldn't be mad though.

I could see Logan Lerman in the part. He's a good actor and I could totally see him as the light hearted counter weight to Affleck's Batman . He's 25 and 5'9 so he's young enough to have been Robin since 2005 .

He obviously cannot be as old as Batman himself.

I never really saw a full episode, but my wife loved that show...I wonder why....

He was actually one of my pics for Bruce back when BvS was announced and I thought they're go for a younger Batman.

Zac Efron would be a great pick. His acting style would work well with Grayson, he has the looks that people would expect, and he's the right age for it. Aaron Taylor Johnson would be a pick that would be more unilaterally liked by people.

He's going to be in Iron Fist and i've seen videos of him doing martial arts. He's acrobatic enough to play Dick. Plus, his looks aren't bad either.
