Dick Grayson Casting Thread

A young Jensen ackles would have been a great Nightwing.

Not down for Batman vs Deathstroke, build that Deathstroke/Nightwing dynamic

It was done so well on Teen Titans. That dynamic rivals the great nemeses in comics

with this nightwing movie announcement I can't help but think about what the current dceu slate is. not including WW and JL the slate (not in order) should be:

GCS
SS 2
DEADSHOT SOLO
THE BATMAN
NIGHTWING
CYBORG
AQUAMAN
FLASH
MOS 2
SHAZAM
BLACK ADAM SOLO
DARK UNIVERSE
GREEN LANTERN CORPS

that's 13 movies in production. Am I missing any?

Call me crazy, but I actually think a Deadshot solo could be so dope. It's one of the projects I'm really hoping works out.

Agreed. I love slade from the teen titans show so much :ilv: Ron Perlman's voice acting is god-tier. and I loved the dynamic they crafted between them. he was like an evil father figure to robin

I was a big fan too.

I thought I was the only one :woot: I envision it something like John wick but with bucket-fulls of will smith charisma, some more dc characters that haven't been introduced yet and a lot of impossible 200-yard-away headshots. I wonder if they'll redesign the Deadshot suit.

I really think The Batman will do a lot to flesh out the Grayson/Wilson thing. For Bruce he'll just be someone to fight while he deals with some larger issue. For Dick, he'll be the actual arch nemesis.

I was just watching an episode about an hour ago. It was that episode where Cyborg, BB and robin enter a tournament after being teleported into another dimension. I actually looked up Wildebeest, hotspot and gizmo and my mind was blown when I found out they're actual canonical dc characters and not made up for the episode :funny: I knew speedy and aqualad were but I didn't think those others would be

That was a fun episode. Which season did you enjoy the most? I enjoyed all of them, but 1, 2 and 4 were my favourites.

I actually think I enjoyed all of it equally. Never really came across an episode I didn't love. except maybe that weird one where cyborg malfunctions and that guy fixes him but wants to turn him fully cybernetic. there were way too many re-runs of that one and it got annoying. I did love the season with Terra a great deal so I think that was probably the one. I was like 10 years old and that arc got me in the feels big time haha. I remember loving Red-X and I'd love for him to be in the DCEU. I don't think he was canon to the comics but damn would I love some iteration of him in live action :hmr:

I think that was supposed to be Jason Todd. At least that is who they hinted at him being. If a Nightwing movie happens, Jason Todd turning up is a possibility (but as Red Hood, not as Red-X).

oh was he? I just remember the show never revealing who he was (probably because not even the writers knew) and him being jason todd just being a throw-away visual gag in that second episode he was in: http://vignette4.wikia.nocookie.net/batman/images/b/b7/Pan08.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20111114011950

I think that was their way at hinting it was him. He also had a similar fighting style to Robin on the show (possibly because he was also trained by Batman), and was presented as a darker version of Robin. We will never know for sure though, but Jason Todd would make sense IMO.

I think Terra would fit in the universe quite well according to what we've seen so far. like El diablo she kinetically controls an element and runs the risk of losing control and unintentionally causing death and mayhem. Not sure if the show's version of Terra is comic accurate though. Afterall Robin was an angsty, spiky haired mini batman in the show and that's not really robin at all. Would still love to have the show's version of Terra in the dceu. I love those episodes. Really touching, heartfelt and tragic. and her being a loner who's afraid of her own powers, completely paranoid and revealed to be a complete sociopath would make for a fascinating character in a Titans movie.

The storyline with Deathstroke and Terra played out differently in the comics. Terra was a lot more evil in that storyline than she was on the show. I like what they did with her on the show a lot though. If they make a Titans movie, I would be surprised of Terra does not show up. The storyline where she is working with Slade and betrays the Titans is a very big one in the comics.

wow that's awesome. I didn't know it had it's roots in the comics. damn now I'm really anticipating that titans movie even though it hasn't been officially announced. yeah if they're going to have a movie with the titans and deathstroke then that storyline is probably the one they'll use which is great

Finding a mid 50s actor who can fit the role and get people to forget that Affleck was Batman for like 5 movies.

I think people can suspend their belief when it comes to the age of Batman, and other characters in movies like this. If the cast another actor who is the same age as Affleck is now after 5 movies, I do not think many people would mind.

I meant mid 40s. He still has to be a middle aged actor. How many actors can you list that could fit that role?

It all depends on quality. If the new actor does a good job and his first movie is a strong one, I think most people would get over the change.
