Did anyone else think they were setting up for the matrix at the end? (SPOILERS)

The entire time Optimus kept saying he'd merge with the all-spark, I was thinking they might just set up the matrix with this and then Optimus would become an even more bad-ass bot and save the day in the end... But alas it wasn't meant to be... But was anyone else thinking this?

i have a feeling that in the sequel the Decepticons are going to decide to suck the life out of Earth to rebuild Cybertron by building some huge device/fortress that converts it into Energon and the climax is gonna be a huge slugfest aboard their starship while it's launching on their way back to Cybertron. At least thats what i'd do

They try that in the cartoon with Vector Sigma where it turns random **** to metal. However... the matrix would of been ill, I suppose it could still be introduced in the sequals.

Personally I hope they delve into Unicron in the next one. Now that would be interesting, and force them to give the TF's more dialogue with each other. Sure, bring Sam and Mikala along for the ride, but it would be much more massive.

Unicron would be way too soon because you'd get what happened in F2, how Dr. Doom was just pushed to the side, same would happen to Megatron.

Well if they decide to dig into the mythos with Alpha Trion, etc... They could definately set up for Unicron... I wouldn't mind TF 2, ending on a slight cliff-hanger with Unicron coming... No PotC: DMC crap... Like just have the actual movie and then in the final shot kind of like how they ended the first TF movie, but instead from space you see a big huge planet coming... UNICRON!

I think the matrix will have a significant role in the next film. Very surprised it was in the film.

I would prefer Unicron in a third film...as opposed to the sequel. I want Devastator or another gestalt in the sequel battleling the Dinobots. It would be like the fight in Heavy Metal War just bigger and badder.
