You are missing the point. Obviously non-Spider-Man fans enjoy this film and there are Spider-Man fans that dislike it. But taken as a whole, the positive reviews seem to skew far more heavily towards coming from Spider-Man fans. This just an observation, obviously not a formal poll, but among the many sites I go to and people I talk to in real life it fits more than any other comic book film that has come out in a long time. The reaction I'm seeing is more similar to something like the Twilight films, where it is mostly appealing to a specific fanbase. Most blockbusters appeal to a wider audience.
Part of the problem is that some people here are discussing individuals, while I'm talking about the larger population. There are always outliers. I'm sure there are some Obama supporters in the NRA, but the vast majority probably aren't.
Yes. That's the point. The GA is not responding to this film all that well.
I'm sorry, but the majority of the GA aren't spiderman fanboys, would we agree on that? According to Rotten Tomatoes, 128,780 people gave it a review that constitutes that Popcorn in the bag symbol as opposed to the popcorn all over the floor symbol (Do these symbols have names, I cannot tell), now, we surely can't say there's that many spider-man fanboys, surely the majority wouldn't be, don't you think?
That part about you judging a population of people whilst others judge people individually comes across, and I apologise if I've misinterpreted you, as a bit strange as you started by saying it's just your observation. Isn't your observation of a population just a larger version of others observations? Couldn't I say I observed a population that all enjoyed the film? Where's the difference in that? Unless we have stats or polls or even just a list of comments/GA reactions/Anythings, it's all just, as you put it, heresay.
I don't see why your observation of the situation is more valid because you've asked more people. I could go ask the
Avenging Spidey Club for crazed fanboys for their opinion, and I'd get a resounding 10/10 from all these hypothetical club members.
Pardon me, but there's just so many confounding factors pertaining to this, I'm really not convinced that we can make the assertation that people who like the film are similar to Twilight fans, honestly, at this point, I just can't see it, and unless you provide proof or show me the proof you've already provided but I've missed, (it's possible) then to reiterate my point, it's just your observations, on a scale that you've percieved to be larger.
Honestly, I could be missing the point again, but I'm relatively comfortable I haven't this time
