The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Did anyone like ASM2 better than Cap2 & DOFP?

1. Christopher Lee is brilliant. Easily in my top three Bond villains, and he steals every scene he is in.
2. Roger Moore is Roger Moore. He's basically the same in all of his movies (although he does have a bit harder edge in this one than normal). If you like him, his charm, and his brand of humor, and I do, it goes a long way.
3. The whole concept is just fun. The world's greatest assassin appears to be gunning for Bond, only it turns out he is the world's greatest James Bond fanboy who is obssessed with dueling him to the death in an elaborate Fun House that he constructed. Silly, but unique, and it kept me interested.

The only one I actively dislike is DAF (and the 67 Casino Royale if you count it). Not because it offended me, although I see why it would, but because it was boring. Everybody was just sleepwalking through that one and it shows.

Fair enough! But yeah, I agree that DAF is definitely the worst Bond movie lol. As bad as the others I listed are, even D.A.D., everyone did try. Connery just wanted a paycheck for that one.

The problem with this thread and the reason it has met with such criticism is because it is a transparent attempt to put down TWS and DoFP in order to prop up TASM2. Nobody is saying that you can't enjoy TASM2, but the quality of other films has no bearing on that. There is already a best superhero movie of 2014 thread in the Misc Comic Book Films folder to compare those films.

I'm not that petty. I titled the thread "like" not "better", on purpose, and I made it clear in my first post that DOFP and TWS could be seen as technically better movies. I also enjoyed all 3 films. Why did I like ASM2 more? Was it fanboyism?, personal preference in tone?, big Emma Stone fan?! lets discuss and have bit of fun banter. The fact that it turned into back and fourth cattiness is an unfortunate reality of the internet.

EDIT: I just want to clarify that not all fans of this film are like this. Most are perfectly fine with accepting other people's opinions. But there are some (won't name names) that just simply cannot accept criticism whatsoever. Liking this film isn't a problem. Not recognizing that everyone has a right to their own opinions is a problem.

Not sure what side that what meant for but sounds like you described the critics of ASM2. "everyone has a right to their own opinions" In my opinion I found ASM2 a more enjoyable experience than DOFP and TWS. Live and let live.

Thanks for all the positive feedback from you guys! I'm writing from my heart because I see a lot of said behavior on these boards and I'm getting kinda sick of it, no matter that I agree with most of their opinions.

The way I'm interpreting the purpose (sp?) of this topic is: TASM 2 is almost universally slammed in these boards and receiving not so flattering reviews with the lowest RT score of all the Spidey films, while both CA:TWS and XMOFP are now considered some of the strongest CBM movies since TDK. Thus, the OP is curious whether there is anyone who still prefers TASM 2 and in that case why that is.

I think that's a genuine question out of curiosity that is pretty interesting; why someone is preferring TASM 2 over said globaly praised films. I see no need to be all defensive about such a thing.

Guys, this thread doesn't exist solely for people to salivate over how much you love this movie. When you are asking to compare it to other movies, prepare for a mixed reaction. These discussions ALWAYS devolve into breaking other films down to prop the film you're backing up. Happens 100% of the time, everytime. People who love this movie are entitled to post here. For some reason, certain fans of this film (and it was true of the first film as well) feel the need to ridicule and demean anybody who might have a dissenting opinion. People are allowed to dislike this or any other film. Many fans on this board would do well to remember that.

Yeah,it seems to me people are just coming back with "Can't you see Cap2/DOFP is the better movie?People like them better and stuff.Your friends and family don't count."

But the question to begin with was Do You LIKE ASM2 better.I don't see it's a case where people are saying it's better technically speaking.Only they enjoy it better.

I did. TASM2 is easily my top Spider-man movie and probably my top superhero movie. I am still shocked at the negativity it receives. If I had seen this movie before reading RT critics I would have thought the movie would be in the upper 80s at least. Most of the critisms on the movie I totally disagree with or feel overblown and nitpicky for the sake of being nitpicky.

How are you surprised by the negativity? There are a lot of problems with the movie that really drag it down. That said, it does have a lot of good parts. Hell, the parts that were good I would say were great. But it also had a lot of parts that were just god awful.

I loved Cap 2 but I can't remember much of it lol. TASM2 is an awesome movie but DOFP is the better movie out of the 3.
