Total Recall sucked. It looked pretty good but the story made no sense at all.
I liked the Robocop remake though. It could have used some better action sequences, but I thought all the stuff with Murphy, his family, Norton and Sellars was great. And the ED-209s were awesome. I just wish we saw more of them.
We're in for a metric ****ton of 80s and 90s remakes for probably the next few years. None will have the charm or impact of whatever it is they're copying.
The Total Recall remake was below average. Didn't like it all.
Robocop 2014 was just ok. The story was meh and the big villain wasn't there. I watched Robocop 1987 last weekend and it's such a great movie, it's not even close. Clarence Boddicker takes that film to a level the remake just can't sniff....
Robocop was definitely a better movie than Total Recall. I'll admit I found them both pleasantly diverting enough, but I'd actually like to see a sequel to Robocop.
Liked both, not a patch on the originals but both brought new things to the table and were entertaining. Would like a sequel to Robocop I think a new franchise has potential.
I actually kinda enjoyed the Robocop remake. It's forgettable but it was handled with enough integrity that it felt like they wanted to make it special.
