Transformers did barricade die

ok just for you who dont know barricade was the cop. me and my friend were talking about the movie and i said there had to be a sequal because they didnt kill starscream or barricade but he said rachet kileld barricade and i really dont remember that so help me out here

Barricade fought Bumblebee earlier in the movie (although we only saw about 6 seconds of that fight) and was shown mangled up, but still "alive." Later, he responds to Frenzy's call to mobilize. While in route with Bonecrusher to the final battle, he mysteriously is not shown again. Some on here have said that his wreckage is shown on the aircraft carrier at the end; I refute this. I looked closely and saw no evidence of a police car, or Barricade's body.

I think the more important question is, why the hell did the writers/director let this go unresolved? One of the many plotholes that must not be overlooked, and repeated, in the sequel.

I'm not so sure it was intended to be unresolved, at least initially. IDW's comic adaptation of the movie portrays Barricade's fate a little differently. Based on this, the filmmakers could have originally planned to have him keel over with the others 'Cons, but decided somewhere along the line not to be so concrete.

I'm willing to bet my left testicle that Barricade somehow didn't die. He's just too cool to kill off so quick; i think the producers realised this with the early screenings.

Oh, and all those fan theories about Barricade really being an Autobot, i'm sorry to say, has got to be the dumbest thing one could come up with.

No there probably isn't, but plotholes of this magnitude? The majority of good movies do NOT have these kinds of plotholes.

I really enjoyed Transformers, but I strongly believe the sequel must be an all around better film (critically) for it to be anywhere as successful as the first.

I think I was the only one to bring that one up. It wasn't really something I actually thought I was throwing the option out there in a thread. Everyone else said the obvious ones so I went for left field. But Barricades fate I think will be decided on September 21st. The last I knew was 2 minuets added to the film. I just hope we got some closure on this.

but in the novel, someone said optimus kills him on the road w/ bonecrusher and thats what takes him so long to help ironhide and ratchet.

Yeah I read that also, which is why I am almost happy that we did not see that in the movie, but it would have been fun to see both Bonecrusher and Barricade fight Prime, but only if he still didn't die

i think barricade and starscream will probably form a new team of decepticons...if im not mistaken starscream in the original cartoons formed a team known as 'Starscream's Brigade' so whether he continues the bad fight until megatron is brought back i dont know but i could see that remaining cube shard being used to make a full army of evil robots.

and a few more autobots landing on earth.....hell they should just have an all out war and be done with it.....none of this save the humans,destroy the cube rubbish....just all out duke it out nuclear style.....

Yeah I would love to see Barricade vs Prowl in TF2, that would be awesome.

I think Baracade will be in the next movie. If they wanted to kill him off they would of made his death clear in the movie. My guess is that Baracade might be the one that brings Megatron back. remember Barracade would rather have Megatron then Starscream as leader.

Are the expansions upon the backstory really that canon, though? As stated before, in a similar expansion he died. The novels and toys tend to have continuity flaws.

I agree. Prowl is my favorite Autobot, so I am also hoping that he is one of the new characters in the sequel. And a fight scene with Barricade is one of my "must see's."

But I don't recall him ever being apart of the line-up for the first movie at any point. Where did you hear that?
