All my friends were broke so we all did it together. But it wasn't bad or anything because we're all good enough friends that everyone knew what to get one another

I did the Hype one this year (see the thread, I'm quite proud of myself lol) and I also did one at work.

I'd rather not talk about the work one... £5 minimum to be spent on your person, and out of 25 people I get the one Secret Santa who buys me a cheap toothbrush

Not only that, but they didn't even bother to wrap it

Whoever it was, they clearly got a decent present out of it.

We did the Yankee Swap/Secret Santa. That's when everyone brings in a present under $20, puts them all on a table and each person gets to either take a present from the table or "steal" one that's already been opened by someone else. The person who went first gets to trade with anyone once everyone has a present. (there's an episode of The Office where they did this too)

It was fun.

Well, first of all, the guy who bought the ***** was one of our supervisors. He didn't even put it in a box. He just wrapped the ***** in Christmasy paper, and put a bow on it. When the girl he gave it to peeled off the first corner of the wrapping, she noticed a pink, swirly design-- kinda like a tie-dye pattern in liquid form. She thought it might be lotion.

Then she peeled off the rest of the Christmas wrapping, revealing an electric ***** with a swirly, pink oil flowing inside. She ran away in embarrassment, and didn't come to work for about an hour. In hindsight, maybe that wasn't embarrassment.

i also decided to buy a couple other gifts for employees who i've taken a bit of a friendship with, and for that, i got called a jerk and an ******* by another girl who stumbled upon the presents and said i was an ******* for buying gifts for my "favorites" because of how it makes everyone else feel.
