Die Hard 5

Any time actors try to ressurect an old franchise , you just know that they aren't very succesful with their recent movies.
Plus Willis lost all credibility when he allowed die hard o be *****efied into a PG-13 movie.

i know that movie budgets are now bigger and i know that Wills is expensive.

but the budget for die hard 4 was just to big. of course it was PG13 . the budget was to big.

Exec. are asking for all kinds of epic scenes and once the budget becomes too high they're like "Oh wait. This is too expensive. We need to go PG-13 ".

I'm surprised Willis didn't fight for the R rating.

so the movie needs to be big on action and then when the budget is to huge they want an PG13? well bravo FOX.
John McClane is a R character. thats a fact.

i think Smith said that FOX didnt want to do a new die hard movie if it wasnt PG13. so this was the deal so they knew from the beginning.

I love how the early reports were all like "yeah the movie is going to be R rated and awesome ", then going to "yeah the movie is going to be awesome " and finally turning into "yeah it's PG-13 but it'll still be awesome '.

Only if McTiernan returns.

But. . . .Live Free Or Die Hard was. . . . kinda awesome. Sorry, I enjoyed it immensely.

Only if McTiernan returns.

It's a shame the guy isn't able to make hit movies anymore. :csad:

Die hard 1 & 3 , Predator , The last action hero and the thomas Crown affair were awesome. Too bad he's being charged in court .

This movie needs two things:

1) Pierre Morrel

2) R rating

John McClane is a R rated character that is correct.

He is also the underdog. Which really he didn't feal like in number 4. He seemed to offensive, yes they had his daughter. So he had to get her back. But he sounded a little confident at times. It didn't make him as much of a relateable character like in the first three.

But he just seemed to calm at times( or Willis was being lazy)

I miss the grittyness of the character. From the first three. Also enjoyed Die Hard With a Vengeance bc its nice to see Pre 9/11 New York atmosphere again.

I didn't like the Thomas Crown remake as much as I liked the original. It was bit of a meh for me. But I have high hopes for the chase film he's supposed to next, after of before jail.

Indeed, but Fox wouldn't allow him to shoot it in R.

I thought Die Hard 4 was horrible, decent action set pieces, but TERRIBLE supporting cast. Don't want to see Willis going down this road again. He needs to find something else to do. Go for comedy (ala Dinero ie. Meet the Parents) or drama or something. Hope this goes the way of Lethal Weapon 5.

Die Hard 4 was edited to PG-13 by Fox without telling the director and Willis was upset at the decision, at first.

The past three installments in the Die Hard series have all been rated R by the MPAA. Live Free or Die Hard, however, sparked controversy because it was edited to obtain a PG-13 rating. Director Len Wiseman commented on the rating, saying "It was about three months into it [production], and I hadn't even heard that it was PG-13...But in the end, it was just trying to make the best Die Hard movie, not really thinking so much about what the rating would be."[23] Bruce Willis was upset with the studio's decision, stating, “I really wanted this one to live up to the promise of the first one, which I always thought was the only really good one.” to Vanity Fair. “That’s a studio decision that is becoming more and more common, because they’re trying to reach a broader audience. It seems almost a courageous move to give a picture an R rating these days. But we still made a pretty hardcore, smashmouth film.”[24] Willis later confirmed that it was PG-13, but thought that viewers unaware that it was not an R-rated film would not suspect it in watching it, due to the level and intensity of the action, and the usage of some amount of profanity, albeit less than the previous films.[25] He said that this film was the best of the four by saying "It’s unbelievable. I just saw it last week. I personally think, it’s better than the first one."[26]

Well I like Die Hard 4, especially the unrated cut (With he return of f-bombs and blood), so I say bring it and bring it soon.

Personally, I thought Die Hard 4.0 was superb, a movie that fits well with the rest of the series and is better than the 2nd Die Hard movie for me.

So I wouldnt mind Wiseman coming back to direct at all either. If they are doing Rambo 5 and Indy 5 I am all for this.

Die Hard 4 was not that bad, it was enjoyable but it was not as good as the first Die Hard and Die Hard 3 due to it lacking violence and swearing.

I have not seen the unrated cut, though.

^Its worth a watch the unrated cut, it does make a difference.

I thought Die Hard 4 was an enjoyable action flick. But for me, it just didn't feel like a DIE HARD flick, you know?

Yeah, there was not much feeling of isolation that was present in the original but neither did the other sequels have much of that.

Wow, once again I find something to look forward to with my current '80's fixation happening, count me in for this!

Odd number Die Hards are great

bring back John McTiernan and we're golden.

Double post.

I would like them to actually wrap things up in this one though... McClanes getting too old for this ****.

I thought LFODH was pretty enjoyable, though I've refused to see the PG-13 version. Unrated all the way!
