Difficult levels that drove you berserk!

It is...strange seeing people say that they haven't beaten Ninja Gaiden (on Normal mode no less) yet because it was too difficult. If you want a real taste of what's "hard", you should try beating the game on 'Master Ninja' mode and fight Ishtaros and Nichhae at the same time in Mission Mode. It's almost a guaranteed recipe for excess controller breakage, but it's also an adrenaline rush unlike any other and the satisfaction of overcoming the challenge is more than reward enough.

The sea pod maze on Earthworm Jim...I cannot get past that level without the Game Genie's assistance

Jak II- having to run all the way through the ghetto while the Krimson Guards are shooting your ass and metal-heads keep jumping out of the water.

Fester's Quest on NES, to hell with a single level, the whole game is hard

The fight with the clones in God of War in god mode. I had to pass, there was no other option. It was making me sick.
I think I asked God's help on that one back in the day.

For me it was GOW too. The timed "puzzle" at the architect's tomb where you had to jump across the chasm with the moving platforms and giant buzzsaws before the gate closed was a game killer for me, even on "easy". After a couple of hundred tries, the couple of times I did make it across I was too slow. I got rid of the game after that.

Spider-Man: Maximum Carnage for the SNES was the most frustrating game in the world for me. It has no save points. so you need to go through the entire game without dying and without shutting the machine off.

Carnage was no joke in that game, get too close to him and his arms turn into an axe and he would go ape s#^t on you.

TMNT for the NES that underwater level was something serious, they would not give you any type of room to manuever hardly. Just barely touch something....dead

Bionic Commando (PS3) was beyond frustrrating

Mega Man 9 is one of the hardest games I played. I couldnt even beat one robot master. Got too frustrated and dropped it

Most Songs on Expert in the Guitar Hero Games

i couldn't figure out how to pass
the 2nd carnaval world level where theres a rotating barrel in sonic 3 for years, that barrel drove me insane

only figured it out this week and feel like a moron for not realising how easy it was :/

Battletoads falling down that shaft. Never beat it. Maximum carnage I made it to San Francisco and died. Tmnt 1 dam level and never got by the turtle van level. Tmnt 3 very hard. Metal gear! Be 7 playing it Jesus it was bad. But I did beat xmen/Spiderman arcades revenge 3 years after purchase. Juggernaut level is head hitting wall hard.

The penultimate level of Devil May Cry 3, in Dante Must Die difficulty.
That blasted huge blob.

the giant robotnik at the end of sonic 2

no rings, so if u plan your attack a second too early u die and have to restart the entire level

thank god the ps2 version has saves, i saved each time i got a hit or two on it
finally beat the game last night

The part in God Of War where you have to battle all those dudes with shields and those medusas, while the floor is shaking and then opens up if you don't manage to kill them in time. I hated that one.

I also hated the part in God Of War II where you had to beat all those big asses when going to the big momma of time.

That was the hardest part for me on Titan difficulty.

pretty much any old school NES and Super NES game

:cmad:

games were a lot harder back then, but were most fun for some reason

Super Star Wars, Empire Strikes Back, or Return of the Jedi

Three of the absolute hardest games to beat ever. The only one I ever managed to beat was Super Star Wars. The other two were even more brutal.

Ghostbusters the game - the whole bit with the stone angels.

i only managed to beat Star Wars and Empire

Jedi on the other hand...

the last stage where you had to escape the Death Star was beyond difficult; almost made me want to throw the control at the screen :cmad:
