I've been told by a rock-solid source that Cinesite in London are to be handling the CG FX for Two Face in The Dark Knight, with their work due to start in earnest in November. I mention this just so you know it isn't an entirely make-up based look.

But why not, I wonder? The only solid reasons I can think of are all mouth-based - teeth showing through a wound, maybe, or impossible mouth movements.

Cinesite are, frankly, brilliant and have a great back catlogue of work - from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory through The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy to Hot Fuzz.

Sorry if this has been posted already.

Cool. Looking forward to this. Nolan is a real stickler when it comes to CGI (he prefers other methods) so we know it will look amazing!

once again, wait till a non-filmick source has something to say about it

he basically takes any rumor and puts it up without doing any sort of checks

I don't know...if it was going to show teeth and such, you'd think they would just add more prostetics. My guess is either this is bullcrap, or Harvey's scarred side is going to be tremendously f**ked up, like close to the skull, that just wouldn't work right using anything but CGI.

now someone just manip eckhart's face onto the parts where the governor's flesh is still hanging on

Well, Nolan can't be so grounded by reality if he's going to approach Two Face's look to the extent that he'll need to be digitally altered rather than just burn marks that could have been applied by make-up like many of the manips on this board, i.e. - maybe we should give him the benefit of the doubt on what color the Joker's skin really is...

Interesting. If true, it's could be either a modification of the eye or the mouth.

Crazy. Hrmmm. . . this brings into question what Noirman said in his set report. He said that he saw Aaron in make-up, so I don't know what to think of this. Interesting. . .

They are going to erase his ear!!

Well there are certain things, such as burned lips, eye sockets etc. which are just hard to achieve via makeup. If anything this is encouraging to me, it means that Nolan is going full out with bringing the comic two-face to the screen.

Regardless of CGI, he will be in makeup. CGI would be used to enhance, not replace.

CG is nice and all but it seems like they could do all of that with makeup.

I think it's safe to say that we're not gonna get a Tommy Lee I've Got Gum On My Face Jones version in this franchise. No, honestly, I liked Pink-Face in Forever.

not only could they be using CGI to enhance the look of the face, with the eye socket, ear removal and/or exposed teeth, but the CGI could also be for the burning scene. perhaps we will get a very gruesome look at his face bubbling up and steaming. it would be a pleasant change from the super sh-tty scene in batman forever where he gets coffee in the face and holds papers up to it and goes "Ahhh!!" it looked sh-tty. i think they could do better than that. so perhaps a nice CG bubbling of the flesh. that would be pretty kicka-s.
