He's used to dirty backroom deals and throwing out bribes, and thought getting one of the party in with him would be enough to override what they otherwise think of him. The (f)art of the deal being demonstrated for us live.:D

IMO, that's "exactly" what he thought. He's a complete narcissist and his ego is so inflated, he thinks everyone who just listens to him will respond in the way he wants. To put it simply, he has a god complex.

Here's a definition.....sound familiar?

A god complex is a pattern of behavior characterized by an inflated sense of self, power, and entitlement. People with a god complex may believe they are superior to others, have great influence, and are infallible. They may also feel entitled to special treatment, disregard the needs of others, and act as if rules don't apply to them. People with a god complex may also be highly dogmatic in their views, speaking of their opinions as if they are unquestionably correct.

Anyone have any plans yet for election night?

All I know is - stay in get high (mj gummies) to temper anxieties (or at least try to).

After the last two, it just isn’t in me this time around to go without lol.

(As a bisexual first generation Latino immigrant with a future husband that relies a lot on current medical plans - much is at risk)

House actual November results:

2020: D 50.3% | R 47.2% (Democrats +3.0) (Democrats were incumbents)
2022: D 47.3% | R 50.0% (Republicans +2.7) (Democrats were incumbents)

The House popular vote % and Presidential popular vote typically track closely in modern times.

Biden does need to win the popular vote by more than a few points or else he likely loses like Hillary Clinton in 2016 and Gore in 2000 (after the Florida debacle).

I really wish we changed our archaic voting system. Ideally I'd like to get rid of the Electoral College cause it's so antiquated *coughandracistcough*, I think a good middle ground is that EC votes aren't winner take all...EC votes are distributed by voting numbers. Meaning that a close victory in Florida, ex 2020 when Trump got 51.2% and Biden got 47.9%, in the new system someone like Trump would get 14 and Biden would get 13.

I dunno, I'm not a political analyst, but that would make someone's vote matter more. At least in my opinion.
 
While insane Trump supporters will only dig in deeper after the felony -

The real focus is on the independents.
