I don't think they would be able to convince all repub house members even if they had a majority.

We've never delayed inauguration day, and it seems unlikely that we will now so they cant slow it beyond January 20. But the GOP is so afraid of the Cult that they may go through the motions of slowing the process to appease the Cult.
