Don't count White out, right now they are both at around 41%, they are virtually tied. White can very easily get the Houston and surrounding area. The commercial blitz has not hit yet, and White has more money set aside for that than Perry does.

So I wouldn't count White out by a long shot.

As far as Perry opposing a similar law. He is fine with Arizona having this law, he just doesn't think it would work in Texas. If he is re-elected, you will see something fairly similar, but not exactly like the Arizona law. If White is re-elected, he will push to make Texas a sanctuary state.

I would think that if Perry gets support from the Tea Party movement in Texas, he'll win, because as we learned in this election cycle:

The Tea Party never loses.

Some are heading back to Mexico or to neighboring states. Others are staying put and taking their chances.

Yes....they do. It is actually a city with an "unwritten law" so to speak that goes against Federal Law, but we will spend our money and time suing a state who's law mirror's the Federal Law, but leans more towards the side of illegal immigrants than even the Federal Law.

But to answer your question.......YES.

Immigration plus Health Care make for an INTERESTING interesting time for the issue of States Rights.

The effect John Roberts Supreme Court has on the issue of States Rights is one of the most important political issues of the day.

I'm pissed.....I'm going to be at a Teacher's conference all day Thursday, so I guess I'll have to wait until late afternoon to get the news on what happens.

The Judge's ruling is in.....

Preliminary look at it looks like generally she has ruled against the US saying that the State Law trumps Federal Law.

Also, looks like she has ruled against the part that says people have to carry with them papers on their immigration status, and that people can be retained indefinitely until their immigration status is taken care of....

So basically she has blocked police from determining immigration status. (this is huge for Arizona, it is the most critical portion that they wanted, but did not get). So, it is probably safe to say they will being going to the Circuit court seeking relief. All parties could end up doing this.


Now there is some wording funzies going on here. She did not say that the police COULD NOT look at their immigration status IF THEY WERE stopped for another reason, but the Arizona Law cannot REQUIRE the police to do it.

So, there is some crazy wording in here that will have to be looked at carefully.

And at this moment, the preliminary injunction has not been granted.

Federal law has always stated that immigrants who are in the country legally are required to carry their green cards/permanent resident cards, or work authorization cards.
