With the way our economy is today there is an opportunity to make a lot of money going into this business which can be used to bolster and create more jobs if used wisely.

People still going out trick or treatin recession or not. Why not get your fingers around it and make some money off of it.

I can't think of any negative consequences of this move. You do all advertising after 11pm on adult channels, you build a motel/hotel where the potential "john" is carded and ran through a metal detector before he's permitted to enter the grounds.

He pays not only for the women(s) he also pays for the room as well.

You pay the prostitutes a flat fee and benefits once they reach a certain amount of customers.

All prostitites are required to take full drug, sex, and all other kinds of testing.

You make any form of illegal prostitution mandatory 20 year prison sentence and 1 million dolla fine. This will stop people from doing it on the side.

I know people will argue about morals, but i really feel this is the type of radical change we need if we're going to survive this ecnomoy.

I think the morality argument against prostitution is pretty lame. We outlaw prostitution but you can still go to a strip club or purchase pornography. There's really not much business.

As far as the morality, at what point is the government crossing the line and becoming involved too deeply in our personal affairs?

I feel that if 2 people want to exchange money for sex, as long as it is consensual, then it is nobody's business but the 2 people involved.

So, I don't believe that prostitution should be illegal.

However, I also don't believe that this is something that's holding our country back from achieving greatness, either. We don't "need" to legalize prostitution, I just don't believe that it should be illegal. Legalizing prostitution isn't something that I would put at the top of the agenda or anything.

Anyways, you can still go to Vegas if you want legal prostitution.

Legalize it regulate it and use it to help stimulate the economy

seems to work in Nevada...and it is strictly regulated...every brothel is subject to medical inspections or health department inspections at any time, plus a lot of the high end brothels keep a physician on call for regualr checkups

you ever see that show called cat house? That system works perfectly

who changed my thread title?

Legalize it regulate it and use it to help stimulate the economy

Really? I think it depends. :yay:

no system is ever perfect, but its certainly a move forward

It would help with the drug problems surrounding most prostitutes now.

More tax & licensing Revenue for state & local government. Why not?

Man someone restore my original title i'm losing hits and replies by the second

Why? the change in the title messed up my projected calculations of atleast 50 replies and 800 views by this time.

We threadmakers are like salesmen, the better we advertize, the more business we get in this case views and replies. I have a reputation to keep around here.

I didn't even know it got moved to "politics" this thread won't do numbers

I think the title is fine as is....it wouldn't hurt to have a coherent and mature discussion about this subject

I say it should be decriminalized, but it has nothing to do with "Yay! Extra tax revenue!" In fact, the government shouldn't factor in getting more revenue when deciding whether to legalize something. That smacks of . . . well . . . ****ing itself for money. I don't morally agree with prostitution based on my religious beliefs, but I do believe it should be decriminalized. The government shouldn't endorse it, however, by providing any direct or ancillary support to it.

I agree Robby. They should tax the use of the revue earned by the Prostitute. Like with some sort of "fair" tax. :cwink:

well I would guess most girls work in cash and don't declare their income anyway

That's right. But all of them spend that money.

Isn't porn basically someone paid to have sex?

Why is it the governments business what two consenting adults do behind closed doors?

So basically a woman can fake an orgasm as long as she's not paid to do so.

stupid.

It's basically someone has a product to sell, that person has a buyer. I don't know what the issue is.

Sure, why not? It would be a lot safer.
