🇺🇸 Discussion: The DEMOCRATIC P - Part 3

US News
NC state Democratic Party leader Anderson Clayton stated on her IG/Threads acct that at the first county chair meeting this year, Chatham County had 85% voter turnout for this past year’s municipal elections. That’s not a presidential year, so that is interesting. I hope she has supercharged our party apparatus.

Now that would be a touch of irony. It's amazing how people will vote for football personalities running for political office. Some like Tuberville and Walker are absolute idiots and people will still vote for them.

Alabama will vote for almost anyone with an R next to their name. Doug Jones did the state proud for the three years as U.S. Senator, then they replaced him with the failed football coach from Florida.

We have to get 50 Senate Ds willing to abolish the filibuster, plus a bare House majority by January 2025 to make that happen.

If that's feasible, then Ds can implement a whole swath of progressive legislation on party line votes a la Minnesota.
I'd love that. :)

Right.....as I've said on several occasions, WV is gone and if the Dems want to hold the senate 50/50 (with a Dem White House), they need to sweep AZ, NV, OH, and MT; which are all tough races. If they want an outright majority, they have to take either FL or TX......both steep hills to climb.
