🇺🇸 Discussion: The DEMOCRATIC P - Part 3

US News
Corona only infects filthy foreigners and Democrats, right?
That's the craziest thing. Trump's target demographic is the most at risk to this. And he spent the first few weeks of crisis prep feeding them misinformation that put them more at risk. And now, even after he's changed his tune, they still don't believe they're in danger.

It's like that here. The Trumpists are downplaying it

And unfortunately, whatever Hillary's issues are with retail politics aside and the real legitimate criticisms one could lob at her, if you click on that Tweet and go down the stream to see the responses, well... It's THOSE people who got us into this ****ing mess.

No one has to love this woman. No one has to put aside their feelings that she was flawed as a candidate or that if one was looking for "revolution" she wasn't the one to up end USA government policy from top to bottom tilting it to a more Progressive direction. I ain't even asking anyone to like her as a person...

But this wasn't a decision between McDonalds and Wendy's. This was a choice between Wendy's and a homeless man ****ting down your throat in the parking lot of Taco Bell.

Anyone that contributed to this (LOOKING DIRECTLY AT YOU MATT AND TREY!) by trying to make some BS claim that the "objective" analysis is that there is and was no difference is proffering utter and complete bull**** trying to disguise itself as "realism".

There is literally almost nothing most sober analysts predicted about letting a Trumpized GOP run the country that hasn't come true yet. Maybe him getting us into a hot war... But the year is young.

And the full video:

Now... Absolutely he could be grandstanding for the cameras... At the same time tell me it's a good idea under these circumstances to be shutting off anyone's power?

And I honestly cannot find with a quick Google the mayor's poltical affiliation.

But Omari Hardy is the gentelman making the impassioned plea to act like decent human beings and get outraged over this **** and the treatment of the least among us, and he is a D.

Where the **** is Obama? He's still a man of enormous influence. Why hasn't he been out there aggressively fighting Trump every single day?

I think as satisfying as that might be asking a former executive to not just be say a proxy spokesman in a political campaign is different that setting up shop as some kind of separate authority in society, especially in times of crisis.

I totally understand a former Commander in Chief being reticent even in dire emergencies to come out and be all "Ya'll need to listen to me, not who is elected."

It sucks but I understand the POV.

Stuff like that has a habit of leading to civil wars.

Pelosi Statement Ahead of Unveiling of Democrats’ Third Coronavirus Response Bill

Washington, D.C. – Speaker Nancy Pelosi released this statement ahead of the unveiling of House Democrats’ third coronavirus response bill, the Take Responsibility for Workers and Families Act:

“The Senate Republicans’ bill, as presented, put corporations first, not workers and families. Today, House Democrats will unveil a bill that takes responsibility for the health, wages and well-being of America’s workers: the Take Responsibility for Workers and Families Act.
“Democrats Take Responsibility:
  • For our workers and small businesses: our bill requires that any corporation that takes taxpayer dollars must protect their workers’ wages and benefits – not CEO pay, stock buybacks or layoffs. It gives our small businesses fast relief with grants and loans to tide them through this crisis. And it strengthens Unemployment Insurance so that it can replace the average wages of our workers who are losing their jobs and hours.
  • For our doctors, nurses, health care workers and first responders: It gives hospitals and other health institutions the desperately needed funds to provide treatment and care to all those who are sick and to ensure they have the Personal Protective Equipment to protect health care workers and first responders. It protects our health care workers by requiring the Administration to enforce our stronger Occupational Safety and Health Administration protections. At the same time, it calls for the president to invoke the Defense Production Act immediately.
  • For our families: It gives direct payments to America’s families in a robust way and strengthens Child Tax Credits and the Earned Income Tax Credit. It gives more workers the security of guaranteed paid family and medical leave, including those caring for our seniors. And it makes coronavirus treatment free for the patient.
  • For our students: Pumps nearly $40 billion into schools and universities, with $30 billion directly provided to states to help them stabilize their funding for schools and nearly $10 billion to help alleviate the harm caused by coronavirus on higher education institutions, while providing them with added flexibility to continue operating during the crisis. The legislation also helps current borrowers with their student debt burden and GI bill benefits. We also bolster SNAP and other initiatives to address food insecurity.
  • For our Democracy: Ensures that states can carry out this year’s election with billions in grant funding for states through the Election Assistance Commission and a national requirement for both 15 days of early voting and no-excuse absentee vote-by-mail, including mailing a ballot to all registered voters in an emergency.
“I am grateful to our Committee Chairs and members for their extraordinary work for America’s workers and families. Because of the Senate Democrats, progress has been made. We urge the Senate to move closer to the values in the Take Responsibility for Workers and Families Act.”

This is still Trump’s first term! The Democrats have to win next time. We can’t have another 4 years of this. Get it together asap. A united party is a must. No abstainers.

Sense. My job is directly related to the economy but is it worth keeping at the cost of people’s lives? I wonder if these people could sit by and watch one person struggle to death slowly on a ventilator and feel the same.

Trump would love that. It would be the perfect distraction for him to use during those daily briefings

Sorry, but I don't buy that doing nothing is the best way Obama could be helping. This is Democrats in a nutshell: we dare not put up a fight at all.
