Discussions on the Exclusive Footage shown at Consumer Electronics Show [Merged]

yes it did say that but most of the things in the script summary are in fact true. it's a good source and so is the Q&A.

yeah thats true, you know i kinda wish i never read the script summary or the q and a, ive known the plot of this film for a year now and were still months away from the movies release. i tell you what though, im freaking excited about seeing s3, i cant friggin' wait.

i am actually happy that i read the Q&A and the script summary because it gave us not only clues to the movie but made us all even more excited. i can't wait to see spidey3 either. i am so freakin excited and it will be the best day ever!!!:spidey:.

Sure, I'd apreciate that.. but just what exactly is it?

An Imdb script summary leaked last year, its accuracy was never proven to be accurate or false, but hints point to it either being untrue, fan made, or a very early draft, a great read though. Major spoiler warnings however, and it's banned on SHH.

Sounds cool still! I'll give it a read!:) So can you PM it to me?

PS. Can't be the final script even if parts of it are true... cause Raimi said in the interview on these boards that they were still writing on the damn thing when they started shooting it...

Your link doesn't work and really doesn't have anything to do with this thread.

yeah and same goes for the Q&A.
Umm...do you also have the Q & A with you? I read it when it was on here WAAAAY earlier, but I forget most of what it said.

If you have it, I'd appreciate a PM. :word:

You know, I never did read the script summary...

"Spider-Man 3 Fight Scene Revealed
Exclusive: We've seen a clip from Spidey 3!
by IGN Staff
January 8, 2007 - IGN is at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas where we just viewed a killer fight sequence from Spider-Man 3 at the Sony booth!

[SPOILER WARNING: Continue reading only if you want to know the details of the film's brutal battle between Peter Parker and Harry Osborn that's glimpsed in the trailer.]

The scene begins with MJ and Peter laying on a web in the park talking -- you'll know about this scene if you've paid attention to the trailer and seen previously released production stills. We surmise that she's just been in a performance that he attended as she says something like, "I wish you could come see me every time."

We then shift to a scene where Peter is visiting Aunt May and he tells her he's decided to marry Mary Jane. "That's so wonderful," she says, and she gives Peter her engagement ring to offer MJ.

CUT TO: Peter is walking in the city, in normal street clothes, and Harry Osborn swoops in out of nowhere sporting a Hobgoblin-like look. He is fully dressed in black, with tough-looking Oscorp body armor. He has knives that pop out from his arms, and he wears a black mask -- it reminds us of Scorpion's mask from Mortal Kombat, but is mostly black. He is riding what looks like a badass version of a Back to the Future hoverboard which flies much like the Green Goblin's rocket sled.

Peter and Harry fly through the city fighting in what is probably the most brutal battle seen in the Spidey flick series thus far. As Peter swings from building to building, Harry flies along with him and they exchange powerful blows. Harry slashes Peter's chest. Peter fires balls of webbing at Harry and manages to obscure his vision, but this doesn't slow him down for long. Harry flies after him, knocking him off of every perch, while Peter continues to fire webs -- remember he's not even dressed as Spider-Man at this point.

In the scene's climax, Harry chases Peter into a narrow alley and hurls flying pumpkin-shaped razor weapons at him. Peter knocks them out of the air, and manages to send one flying back towards Harry. This knocks him off of his board and sends him falling to the ground, hitting a number of things on the way down. The scene ends with Harry laying on the ground unconscious and Peter swinging down to try and help him... but things don't look good for the young Mr. Osborn."

:) enjoy folks

Hell yes.:hyper:

:wow: Incredible.

Peter even states "I hate those things"

Nice little quip there, Pete. :woot:

The next sequence was by far the best fight out of all the films. Peter is riding on his scooter when all of a sudden, Harry Osborn snatches Peter up into the sky on his flying jet propelled snow board. They battle it out above and though the city, never once allowing the audience to breathe.

:wow: :wow:

That's amazing.

I wonder if Harry keeps the mask on most of the fight, that way Peter will actually fight back.

ok so the action will not be the problem in this movie (SR?). now i just hope that the story makes sense and i hope that it will not be like X3.

DAMN COOL!

wow, both of them say it's the best fight sequence so far in the spider-man movies. and it's the first fight in the movie. that's truly an achievement.

if the first fight is that good, how incredible will the fights with sandman and venom be?

When he doesn't move, Peter performs CPR screaming out Harry's name.
I can't wait to see this part for some reason.
Those 5 minutes have me so excited for the release of Spider-Man 3.
Okay, that answers my question on how long the clip was.

Just saw extended peek at SpiderMan 3
Sony is showing some exclusive footage of Spider-Man 3 at CES this year. I got in on the first show (only two shows per day), and had to come back to the room to post about it. Holy. Crap. It would appear that these shots are in sequence, but they’ve cut out a lot of the filler in between each scene.

It starts out with a shot of a bridge, then the camera pans up to reveal Peter Parker and MJ in the big web (like what you see in the trailer). There’s some dialog exchanged between the two of them, the point of it being that they are very much in love. The next scene, Peter is talking to his aunt and tells her that he wants to marry MJ. Aunt May tells Peter about the time Ben proposed to her, and how special that moment was. She talks about the ring Ben gave her, then gives the ring to Peter and tells him to make his proposal to MJ just as special.

Cut to Peter driving his scooter through the city. He looks just as awkward on it as he did in the last film. Suddenly, a glider and its rider (Harry) come swooping out of the sky and nail Peter in the back, swooping him up off of his scooter and into the sky. Harry has on some Batman like outfit (which you see in the trailer) and a mask over his face. He slams Peter into the side of a building (again in the trailer), where Peter stays, apparently knocked out for a moment. Harry’s mask peels back (like the masks in the Stargate movie) to reveal his face. He accuses Peter of killing his father and guns the glider straight for him. Peter comes to his senses and barely gets out of the way before Harry’s fist buries into the wall where Peter just was. Apparently this suit gives Harry some amazing power. Peter tells Harry how his father really died, but Harry’s not hearing any of it.

The next couple of minutes (maybe less, but it seemed that long) show Harry pretty much owning Peter’s butt during the fight. There’s some amazing shots in this fight scene, and it’s nothing like what we’ve seen in the other two movies. Peter is swinging Spidey style but without the costume. He’s trying to avoid Harry but at the same time tossing a few punches of his own. Harry seems to stay one step ahead of Peter, grabbing him at one point and flying along side a block of buildings, smashing Peter’s head through the bricks as he goes. At one point, Peter loses the ring his Aunt gave him (the slow motion show in the trailer where he reaches for the ring) and before he can grab it Harry is on him again, tossing him around like a rag doll. Peter gets enough shots back in that he can swing down and snag the ring before it’s had a chance to hit the ground. He lands on a building, looks down into his clutched hand ans sees that he grabbed the ring. Just then Harry is back on him, and the chase continues. Peter swings down a narrow alley to try and shake Harry. No luck. Harry kicks his glider sideways (like a snowboard) and stays close. Peter dives through some pipes that, for some reason, run between the buildings on either side. Harry pops some bombs out of his glider and tosses them at Peter. These bombs are new, I believe, as they have wings on them and chase Peter through the alley. Peter turns, says something along the lines of, “I really hate those things!” and starts to gob them with webbing. He snags one of the bombs and tosses it back at Harry, where it impales him in the shoulder. While he takes a split second to yank it out, Peter shoots a “clothes line” web and when Harry looks up, it’s too late. He nails the line of web and it knocks him off his glider. He falls quite a distance, smashing his head against one or two of those big pipes, bounces off a dumpster and lays motionless on the ground. Peter lands near him, and yells Harry’s name. No response. He steps closer and does the same thing. Again, no response. He gets right up next to Harry and can tell Harry is in trouble. He rips open Harry’s outfit and starts to perform CPR, screaming Harry’s name the whole time.

Absolutely freakin’ amazing scene. That one fight scene was better than any other fight scene in either of the other two movies. If the rest of the film is half as good as this one scene was, this movie will be even bigger and better than the other two. I’m going to hold off saying that for certain, as we only got to see a few minutes of the whole thing. But WOW! There was a spot or two where I could be very critical of the green/blue screen work they did, but not enough to ruin the scene as a whole. I may go back and see if I can get in tomorrow, just to see it again.

I would be mildly surprised if this shows up on YouTube. Before they would let us into their theater, they took all cell phones and cameras. Before the show started, a Sony rep stood before the crowd and informed us that this was property of Sony, that it was under copyright and any duplication or recording would be illegal. Also, if we saw the person sitting next to us trying to record it, to let their security people know.
