Disney Infinity Platform

maybe a few.. like that last batch that's due out.. but GameStop is selling these at "Buy 2 (for $12) get 3 free... used. that's 5 figures for about $24

Target this month also has a 75% off sale for Di 1.0 and 2.0 (everthing)

which TRU is also honoring. (at least mine did)

I think the only things that are going to be highly sought after collectibles are probably the little power packs and discs... because 1) they were like trading cards and you had no clue what you were getting and 2) right now they're impossible to find. 1.0 and 2.0 are no where to be found local for me...

Toys are really hard to be worth anything anymore. They're all overly mass produced.

according to what brandon jones (formerly of Gamer trailers who now run easy allies on you tube for now) said in his video which on here in this thread the disney infity figue aren't as mass produced as the other figure disney sells where people paint colour's on them and he went into detail about that.

There were a few that they didn't really make a whole lot of. They started just making really random obscure choices, like Quorra from Tron.

Sounds like internal politics or something if they were doing that well.

They're really dumb to cancle it just as Star Wars was coming into the picture..

I'm just bummed the fan poll turned into nothing... i mean.. the one i cared the least about won.. but it would have been great if Dark Wing still got made for coming in at #2

Still don't know how we never got a Scrooge McDuck one. Is there a Goofy?

Last year DI outsold both Skylanders and Dimensions. Why Disney decided to cancel it anyway is beyond me.

looks like some sort of politics issue inside the company. it could also just very well be Disney doesn't want to make games.. and would rather license their brands.

Only good thing from this will be Marvel and Star Wars goes to Lego Dimensions now.

Just picked up a Quorra figure. (From Tron: Legacy) Hoping to get Sam next. These toys are really detailed.

This is about e3 But seeing they have the peep's that made disney infinity talk to them it made sense to put it here as well.

Ben and Steve in Vic's Basement!!! - May 20, 2016

The Pre-E3 madness has begun--find out what Victor Lucas and his guests Ben Silverman and Steve Tilley have to say about E3 2016! Also the fellows dive deep in the cancellation of Disney Infinity and what that means to the Toys To Life category in general! Its a blast of a Vic's Basement discussion.

Once the Star Wars Infinity stuff goes on sale I'll probably buy the whole set, but as someone who played Version 2.0 I can see why Infinity failed. There just wasn't enough to the actual gameplay. They had the best looking figures, hands down, but the game itself was just too empty.

2.0 was not good, but 3.0 was actually a pretty big improvement, imo.

Just saw 3.0 versions of Alice, Mad Hatter and Time from the new flick.

I never got the whole toys to life fad and thought it was dumb. You buy a full retail game and have to buy figures to unlock characters, levels and other content? It sounds like a dumber, more expensive form of DLC which people accepted as this took off

I agree; the whole game relied on Toy Box, which are mainly made by the player community and the quality is generally average to poor. There's restrictions like play sets can only be used for certain figures, and figures cannot be used for earlier Infinity (2.0 can't use 1.0 Toy Box). I collect Marvel and Stsr Wars due to my love for these two franchises, but the decision-making for this game always baffled me.

You have to realize this was aimed at kids and families, the casualest or the casual. The kind of audience who only bought a few games a year, and kids who bugged their parents to get figures of their favorite cartoons. It is dumb to a single "core" gamer and all, but honestly, it's probably the most brilliant idea, financially, for video games in about 20 years.

That you couldn't use any figure with any playset is what sunk the game for me. If I plop down $13 for a Venom figure I want to be able to use him wherever for whatever.
