Disney+

For now it seems great value for anyone who is into both Star Wars and Marvel. If you’re only into one of those then less so, unless you get a lot out of the rest of the catalogue. Still can’t replace Netflix for all round content for me just yet.

Yeah Disney needs to pump up their general entertainment content to reach a wider audience. I dropped Netflix because I just wasn’t using it like I used to. I have the Disney/Hulu/ESPN bundle. I haven’t seen TBOBF yet so will be binging it soon. I do need to utilize Hulu more though, at least to justify the bundle price.

See for me Netflix has been replaced. I barely use it anymore. I should stop paying for it, but idk why I haven't.
Disney+ honestly too. None of the MCU shows interest me, SW is hit or miss. They do have a lot of older nostalgic movies and shows. At least there's that. Netflix for me doesn't have that

I use Hulu and HBO Max waaay more. Hulu has next day airs and some legacy shows and HBO always stays with at least one show that's worth subscribing for and it always had a good selection of movies and legacy TV shows like The Wire, Sopranos, etc. HBO Max has had the best library from jump imo

HBO Max has one of the best library but those deals previously in place which has movies come and go are annoying but the biggest strike against it right now is their lack of new content. The only thing I'm looking forward to is the GOT Prequel.

Disney+, I'm more into their new content and since last year, there's only a week or less than a month between a new Marvel or Star Wars show so I'm satisfied. I still have to watch Encanto and will probably watch West Side Story.

it annoys that the announcements are like coming in december, march, may but in the end it’s just the last possible date in those months.
BoBF was a January 2022 not a December 2021 release, Moon Knight is more like a April release and Obi Wan is a June release.
When they announced Disney plus coming to my country, they said it‘ll be March 2020 - it was March 31st - clearly April 2020

To each their own. As someone who doesn't have cable HBO Max is the only way to get HBO programming. And that's enough to buy in
So Succession, Barry, Curb, The Righteous Gemstones, True Detective, South Side, The Last of Us, Winning Time all are HBO Max for me.
That's more than any other streaming service has. And that's on top of all the legacy stuff

The movies coming and going never bothered me. I never really noticed. I mean that's par for the course for most non Disney+ streaming services right? Movies/shows come and go

So we should be getting a teaser for Obi Wan at the Super Bowl right?
And i saw in an article that they might release a Marvel TV Spot too like they did last year. Similar to this.

We don't have Hulu or HBO Max so I guess it would be different if we did.

We also split up most of our streaming services. I pay for one, parent-in-laws another and my bro-in-law another and we share.

Forgot to say Amazon Prime has a great movie selection too

Ah I get that then
Does it? I’ve watched shows on Amazon but not too many movies. Maybe should have a better look.

Prime is the one sub that is definitely staying whatever for me as I will have Amazon Prime for deliveries anyway.

Also yeah I do like hearing of how other people choose/manage what subs to keep active and how they value them all.

I think there will be some gaps between the premium shows. I think there’s only 5 left this year that they have to spread out: Moon Knight, She-Hulk, Ms. Marvel, Obi-Wan, and Andor. Mandalorian season 3 might come out at the end of the year I guess (though I’m not sure).

They’re definitely not at a place where they can release multiple premium content simultaneously. Maybe in a few years. First they need to fix the gaps.
Andor is 12 episodes, so that covers 3 months already. They also have another season of Bad Batch, which kept people occupied for 16 weeks last year. I'm personally also quite excited about Love Victor S3 (June 15 for countries that have D+ Star rather than Hulu) and whenever The Mysterious Benedict Society S2 happens.

That definitely helps it a lot. We don't use Amazon here generally, so with a lackluster and limited amount of content, it is pretty much dying here.

If Prime was only a streaming service then I wouldn’t have kept it live all the time. I’d have subscribed for certain shows like Wheel of Time and The Boys and then let it lapse till something else I really wanted to watch launched on there.

‘Beauty And the Beast’ Prequel Series Not Going Forward At Disney+ – Deadline

I’m surprised it even got this far. Who wanted this other than Luke Evans and his agent? lol
Why would they make a villain the lead of a light-hearted show like that anyway? And it's not even like Gaston is an overly comedic villain like Captain Hook, he went full on psychopath at the end of the movie and actually succeeded in killing the Beast. A show centered around LeFou after the events of the movie would have made more sense.

So the lineup for 2022/2023 probably be like:

April-May: Moon Knight
May-June: Obi Wan Kenobi
July-August: Ms.Marvel
August-October: Andor
mid October: Werwolf by Night special
November-December: She Hulk
December: Willow
mid December: Guardians Holiday special
December-February: Mandalorian

2023
March: Secret Invasion
May: Ashoka
June: Iron Heart/Loki
July: maybe Acolyte
August: Whatif
September: Iron Heart/Loki
October: maybe Percy Jackson
November: Armor Wars
December: ?

Seems accurate but I think one of Iron Heart/Loki/Armor Wars goes to 2024 and Echo will pop up in 2023.

I‘m fine with that…only if it ain’t Loki.
More interested in a Echo series with DD and Kingpin than in Iron Heart/Armor Wars

I am somewhat intrigued by Willow.

Also Werewolf by Night interests me because of Gael Garcia Bernal playing the lead.

Same here, I like Willow and Disney needs an epic fantasy series.

So no Beauty and the Beast prequel for Josh Gad... any word on the Honey I Shrunk the Kids series that is suppose to star him and Rick Moranis??

Its odd how they announced Rita Ora as cast member kast week, just to lut that whole project on hold 1 day later.
Something went wrong really bad

Since Rick Moranis is coming back, I hope we see him as a regular for Wes Anderson. It seems like he would be a great fit with Wes Anderson's brand of humor.
