Disney+

Other than dropping shows/movies that day, are they doing anything else for Disney+ Day? I think last year they made announcements via Twitter about new programs. Are they going to do the same thing on Sept 8th? Or is that basically D23 a day or two later?

Besides raising the price 30%?

I wouldn’t mind paying a very high sub fee to just one provider who had everything which was how Netflix seemed to be in the early days. These “benefits of competition” seem to make the total price very similar to cable (minus sports) without a streaming services world, except you have to go to a ton of different places to get that content. On the plus side there is a lot more content now when including the original material that the streaming services are coming up with.

Welcome to the world of "Having the ability to make choices about which channels to buy". One of the side effects of being able to make said choices, rather than having to pay for one giant all-encompassing cable subscription? Is that you might have to actually make real choices. Nobody ever promised that you'd be able to get everything you actually wanted for a discount.

Or to put it a different way: if a streaming service is charging too much for too little content? Vote with your wallet, *even if this means forgoing some stuff you might otherwise want to watch*. Set an entertainment budget, spend it on the streaming service or services that you judge provide the best bang for the buck, and accept that this means you will miss out on stuff. Sales resistance is a thing, and IMO people generally need to learn how to say "No, I'm not going to buy this thing I want".

Something sounds off with Allen, its weird.

Sounds good but I get what your saying. Same as earl jones with voicing vader in later years. The voice is there but natural aging is setting in.

After watching that national treasure trailer I may start a petition to demand Cage back.

so dissapointing that they didn’t share something about the Moana and Tiana shows, Swiss Family Robinson, Tower of Terror, the rumored Big Thunder Mountain project. Also no news about where the franchises of Pirates of the Caribean and Tron are heading. If there’s no future it’s a missed opportunity.
The next time, that they’ll have the chance to announce big things will be in two years.
Hope there’ll be another investors day like 2020 in 2023

Also big missed opportunity to not have a D23 in 2023

I'm most disappointed by no update on the return of Rick Moranis for the new Honey, I Shrunk the Kids movie.

Looking forward to The Santa Clauses. Hope more of the main cast from the original movie make an appearance.

Yeah, he’s a massive part of the appeal of it. Won’t be the same without him at all.

Wow, didn’t know, that ABC is going into chinese mythological stuff. I always assumed it‘ll be a grounded teenager series.
I‘ll definitely add this to my list
